Asus SSD Caching

I'm about to buy the Asus P9X79 Pro along with a 60gb SSD and a 2tb HDD. Was thinking of using Asus SSD caching. It's just like Intel's SRT. Has anyone any experience with this? Can't find much info on it...

Uhm, it might be branded by ASUS but are you sure it's not Intel SRT as normal with an ASUS marketing spin slapped on it?

I would be quite surprised if it was not Intel SRT seeing as the board ONLY has an Intel SATA controller for internal SATA drives.

The X79 chipset doesn't support Intel SRT so it must be something else.

Either something of Asus's own design or perhaps software the same or similar to that used with drives like the Corsair CSSD-C60GB Accelerator Series or OCZ Synapse Cache.

It seems like Intel's SRT but with no capacity limitation. This is the only info I've found on it:

Wondering if anyone has any experience with it? Trying to decide between this and a dedicated OS drive. But the real performance boost I'm looking for is using the big VFX and editing programs like After Effects, Nuke, Premiere and Photoshop. and to fit the likes of those on an SSD, I'd have to sell a kidney.

Ah did not realise this.

Any reason why? Will an updated Option ROM enable it in the future?
