Anecdotally I have better experience with Gigabyte over Asus.
As to the two boards in question. The gigabytes are cheaper and on a mature, stable platform, absolutely solid. It lacks some bells and whistles. The Asus has some useful high end overclocking options, and is closer to the bleeding edge.
