Asus warranty repair - all data wiped.

Back from 2nd repair:

Replaced the screen for the cosmetic damage, small win!
Minor damage to the bottom half of the laptop shell, both edges scratched exposing metal
Noisey fan rubbing against the case still the same
Bottom panel is lose

Plan B - going to ask the reseller to replace. Can't be arsed with this, lesson learned.

Only positive I've ever had with a 3rd party repairer were Samsung's mobile repairs, and Nintendo's joycon repairs. They both use a 3rd party partner, whom did good jobs, but many of them do not do as good a job as the company themselves would :)

Glad you had backups, after two botched repairs I hope you get a quick replacement.
 
What a shoddy job, so much for Asus and their premium image. At least Apple have good aftercare whilst also robbing you! Asus just seem to rob you :cry:

I think the best you can hope for these days is that you don't get an issue, it's a bit of a lottery otherwise.
 
Happened to me too. I guess the the fairness here that the owner is always responsible for his data and we should do regular backups. Lesson learned the hard way.
