ASUS X99-E WS

Ahh that explains it then :)

I have been pestering OcUK for an ETA but there is none yet as the WS board as you know are dealt with by a different department at Asus and they take their time to get it right I guess.

Look forward to you posting some user impressions of it please!

Yeah that's understandable really. Yeah I definitely will. Its a great looking board and REALLY heavy! I wont be going for max overclock but stability with a decent overclock is my goal. :)

Will let you know how I get on when I get round to it.. I have a few ;) i7-5960x and a huuuuge stack of Xeons to test in it.. :)

Will be really interested in the results :)

I was looking at the RVE but I don't use half of what my RIVE can do so the WS looks to be a good compromise without losing the TriSLI lanes that I'm looking for.

I wouldn't be surprised though if this board was up there with the RVE on price. The Previous board was not far off the same price as the rampage x79.

I think it was about £40 cheaper, price isn't so much of a concern I prefer less bells/whistles that I'll never use and I like the understated look of the board.

Anything to report yet? :D

Sorry guys its been hectic this week and its stayed in the box. We have someone off and my manager if off as he has had a family bereavement so its been madness here and will be the same next week.. :(

Still nothing yet. We are preparing for an event this week and I have 16 systems to go out shortly after that I should be able to get on it.. :/

When is this board coming, I have all the parts required DDR4, 5960X just sitting here but I'm not putting it in anything else :P

I see its available in the US at a certain site but don't want to buy it from US

I have mine up and running. 5960X@4250Mhz (1.35v) Nice and stable with nice temps on a Corsair H80 with 32Gb(8x4Gb) 2666Mhz with very little tweaking. I am sure there are people that will be getting silly overclocks with this board and CPU combination accompanied by silly cooling. One weird thing is thought that I am cant get the chassis fans to run at anything but 100%. The profiles for Standard/Turbo/Silent do not seem to do a thing. I have set the correct type of fans to DC for the front intake and PWM for the fans on the H80 connected to chassis fan1. The CPU fan control is disabled as it has the tacho sense for the H80 connected to it. BTW I am on BIOS 0606 and even have a custom 0606w from ASUS but still no joy. Oh well this is wip so when I get a bit more time on it I should sort it.

epic fail on my part here! I forgot to order the CPU block when I ordered the rest... doh!

hopefully CS will combine the orders as i've sent them a message. I cant believe i did that. oh well.
