I'm not uncomfortable, although I find areas of high economic depravity unpleasant and due to the current immigration system many ethnic areas seem to be like this...

I like foreigners, there are foreigners in my family, I've dated foreigners and some of my best jobs have been amongst affluent foreginers... but I've also worked in deprived areas, and seen first-hand ethnic violence and the like... and I think there is a serious problem with the immigration system, and generally with the sort of foreigners we let into this country... which has lead to ghettoisation in areas with high levels of foreigners...

That reminds me I have some Old El Paso stuff I can cook tonight.

Bolton has got some right nutters living there now, the turks and kurdish and along with the eastern europeans give NOTHING to the area, they have only recently got into Bolton and these are the ones that should be sent back home.

So you agree that our immigration policy (or UK immigration trends) has nothing to do with, and no effect upon, the food we eat?

We have a harder immigration policy then you lot do.

But there are a lot of immigrants that do actually work there arses off and get paid very little so are stuck in the ghettos.
The are better workers then a lot of other people born in the country and they dont expect as much either.
You cant really tar immigrants with the same brush. There will be some bad ones but there will be some really good ones. Just like the "Anglo-saxon" community anyway.
If they arnt illegal immigrants then its ok imo

Do these languages represent the only language spoken by said asylum seekers or might some of them also speak English?

In fact, given the total lack of relevant information accompanying this article, does it actually serve any (useful) purpose at all?

I've not tarred any immigrants with any brush. I just disputed your inference that we should be thankful for our lax immigration policy because it gives us a wide choice of food on the way home from the pub.

Such a thing would be hard to guage, especially given that a person's grasp of English (or other minority languages) might only be partial...

Immigrants? You mean like my mother? The immigrant who has been gainfully employed since she arrived and who I'd wager speaks better English than you? Please pick a more accurate term with which to generalise, unless you really want to kick every last person out of this country.

Maybe its just groundless foreigner-bashing? Unlikely, given the highbrow nature of the publication, but you never know.
