**At long last - Asus ROG Spatha Wireless/Wired Gaming Mouse available to pre-order!**

poor battery is the main issue for the Mamba, only 6-8 hours usage on one charge.

Mouse manufacturers need to go back to providing two battery packs and a dock to charge one whilst using one.

I don't want to have top plug in my "wireless" mouse when the battery runs out.

This was the original mamba I agree.

With the Mamba Chroma Its normally off charge at about 0800 and doesn't go back on until 0000 if not later at times. It is also used continuously throughout the day.

Within 6 months of using it the battery burst inside the mouse. It swole up so much the plastic inside the battery compartment cracked trying to get it out. Warranty gone - they weren't willing to listen. About the same time the rubberised black coating started coming away from the shell. I had a Razer Blackwidow keyboard doing the same thing so the issue seems to effect all their products with the rubberised finished. They've maybe fixed it now and use an alternative coating but too little too late. £250 wasted on what is supposed to be premium quality.

The thing with Razer is you're not paying all that money for the quality of the mouse or keyboard, rather the quality of the packaging it comes in. The Mamba arrives in a crystal like display box, it looks damn fine but in reality it's just a £40 mouse dressed up like a cheap tart :(. Their software does suck badly too, I could only ever get it to work sometimes while gaming. The on the fly sensitivity was a no no for me. The Perixx Mouse I'm using now is so much better. It cost me £25 lol

It is fair to to say 'Razer - built by chancers for gamers'

Wow, You must have some bad luck as I have had over 10 products and still have about 7.

Only issues I have had with any of their products are;

The Razer Tiamat 7.1 has a microphone which is as much use as a chocolate teapot. But at the cost of £170 ? it felt cheap to say the least, but it did work well mic excluded.

Both Razer Onza (x 2) and the sabretooth are such poor quality and all 3 broke (they were replacements)

The battery on the Razer Mamba 2012 has seemed to die as it doesn't work wireless but it is over 4 years old and the past year the misses has kept it wired so that cant help battery life.

The other products were sold out of preference.

Forgetting the ridiculous price for one second, I really can't fathom why someone would choose this over the G900, other than perhaps aesthetics... which is a pretty crazy reason to choose one mouse over another.

Both the Asus and G900 are around the £140 mark.

The Asus has a charging dock
2 Cables
Changeable switches
12 buttons

The G900 only has 2 side buttons, and that lovely design where dust, dirt and whatever else can fall between the gaps.

Not saying the G900 is WORSE than the Asus, but at the same price surely its down to features that the user requires.

So a mouse's price should be defined by the number of buttons, cables, docks that it's got, and ergonomics, weight, tracking, ambidextrous design means nothing...

No, The price has nothing to do with it.

As I said its based upon what the features the buyer requires.

A dock is handy for me

The number of buttons benefits me more than just 2 as I play MMO's and RTS's

Cant say about how it fits in the hand because not tried either

The Asus is heavier, however this doesn't take into account the way the weight is distributed across the mouse.

I have the Mamba 2012 and Mamba Chroma, the Mamba Chroma feels heavier than the Mamba 2012 to me and the misses dispute the Chroma being lighter.

Ambidextrous design means nothing to me so this feature is not needed.

I don't think its fair to make a full decision on stating that the G900 is a better mouse considering there's not much out there about the ASUS yet.

Unless you have both?

I think it's fair to say there is FAR more to a mouse than buttons, cables etc. We all surely know that it's what INSIDE that counts. The sensor... not sure what the ROG is using, but G900 uses arguably the best available in the PMW3366... and everything else that actually makes the mouse function. The G900 is quite something, and the attention to detail that's clearly been paid, and from a company that has a long history and experience in mouse production. Asus, less so. I obviously withold judgement until reviews and comparisons can be made, but the Spatha has its work cut out.

I do agree about sensors and what goes inside it, but if the Sensor is good inside the Asus then surely its better for myself.

Coming from the Razer stuff I currently have it cant be much worse.

Look at the market.

Keyboard - £30-£80
Mechanical Keyboard - £60-£120
RGB Mechanical - £110-£180

Mouse £20-£50
RGB mouse £50-£70
Wireless mouse £80+

That's just the way the market is. They will place it above other brands as they want to be seen as a premium product.

This lad can separate the cheese from the mice!!

Looks fantastic to me and ROG always has a big following with a great brand identity they can command such price points.

the problem is asus rog stuff mice wise has always been pretty ****

me and a few gaming mates who won comps or in events got free rog mice mech keyboards.no one used them even binned them lol.

mice were not good.comfortable or even designed well.yet they somehow put them in a premium bracket pricing

logitech have mice making down to a art.reliable.razer make great mice but just dont last like logitech do.

only other real decent gaming mouse wise recently from not logitech or razer has been from zowie.
