For those that wonder why any atheist should donate, you need the context of religion in America. It's a complex issue which I'm not getting into here, but if you are aware of it you might what to consider donating. It is a very worthy cause. Remember, preachers in America earn a living doing their preaching, atheists have to make do with donations and hold down real life jobs in order to pay their bills.

I like playing video games as a hobby, so does that mean that I should have others fund it because my job doesn't pay enough?
 
So basically he want's a living wage in donations so he can make the occasional video which the vast majority will not see or care about. Also the people who will watch it will share his views anyways. All so he doesn't have to get up for work in the morning?
 
What is he going to achieve by making full time atheist videos?
I'm an atheist, I don't need to pay some american a subscription every month to continue my belief?

I don't understand this concept or his point of this.

Edit; This make's me laugh, "Preachers earn a living (Yes that's their purpose at their church etc.), Atheists have to have a normal job to earn a living (well duh?, unless you become a preacher at a local community... oh wait)"

i'm not passing comment on this guy or what he has to say but i do find it very hard to believe that anyone of faith is going to change their mind after watching some random youtube video. :/

How does you playing games (poorly) offer anything to anyone else? this is a big difference, this guy creates amazing lectures, presentations and debates. He is saying that he would like to make more of them but he does not have time because he has to work at an insurance company all day.

High School and or AP Biology Standards video/Improved Sound Quality

I will add another video based on high school science curriculum standards -in addition to one documentary style video like The Foundational Falsehoods of Creationism and one middle school science standards video. That makes the total 3 videos a month all with quality sound, because they will be made in a controlled studio environment. Any other video made in an environment with background noise like outdoor environments or live audiences will have the sound touched up.

I already spend most of our free time challenging conservative politics on science education and church state separation and doing presentations that promote freethought community. However, I am often sidelined when I would like to attend a hearing or protest during the week. At this level, I would be able to produce content full time

There are thousands of videos like that which already exist on youtube, from extremely credible sources that have numerous degrees in the chosen area and are often professors. Why would we need another person making videos about the same area that is far less qualified, especially in a school environment?!
 
At the end of the day, if his videos were popular, YouTube would pay him.

They aren't paying him.

No of course not. What a silly comparison. The issue of religion in America is huge, and it is a big deal to Americans, unlike here in the UK where religion is mostly a background irritation that most of us ignore.

Ha how do you know I play them poorly? He works all day, every day then, with no breaks and no holidays? Sure
 
If indeed I should donate to him for his views should I not also donate to Isis for theirs then I guess the WBC would be next. Where do I stop?

His videos are about the best on evolution and Phylogeny. This is why i am promoting his page because i think it is good. If you are aware of all these videos that already exist, i would like to see them, so please post them.

His wife is a teacher and they work together to create these materials, they are about the best i have ever come across.

What we have threads on starving yourself but we can't have a thread on atheism?

There is already many videos from my people who are much higher intellectually.
The why do we need a random American to make videos about atheism?
