Athletics

I'm really looking forward to seeing Mo run, if he could get the double again that would be amazing although it's likely to be even tougher than four years ago.

I'm hoping for some big performances in the athletics as there are a few decent medal chances in the team.

I know he trains in Kenya and the US but do worry about the humidity in the longer events, that could be a real killer for our guys

Will be interesting to see what happens though (just remember Paula Radcliffe all those years ago being the red hot favourite going into the Olympics and not even being able to finish because of the heat /humidity - I know that was the marathon but even so)

Thanks for the schedule, Cosimo. Very handy, I'll keep that as an open reference page in my phone and laptop browsers.

Looks like it kicks off at 9.30am (1.30pm our time) with:

FRI 12 09:30 Men's Discus Throw Qual.
Round - Group A
Olympic Stadium

FRI 12 09:35 Women's Heptathlon 100m Hurdles - Heat 1

Jessica Ennis Hill running her first heat and defence of the heptathlon title.

And she wins, 12.84 secs. Excellent!

Phew! Everyone was clearing 1.86 height on the high jump except Jessica who failed first attempt, but she just succeeded.

She and KJT both just cleared 1.89!

JEH best is 1.95 so hopefully she'll make this 1.92 on 3rd attempt. edit: Bah, fail.

KJT makes it.

And makes 1.9.5!
