Not long to go now for the heptathlon javelin. If JEH can just keep within touching distance of Thiam, she should coast to gold in the 800m.

It's all about self belief. If KJT had just 10 per cent of what Jess has.

Agreed. Katarina I think possibly lacks some of the positivity that Jess has if things are not going exactly to plan. I've noticed sometimes she has a look of defeat on her face if her performances are below par. Jess, seems as though she can put poor performances out of her mind more easily.

Poor first throw in the Javelin from KJT. No real effort there.

Yep. Heck, even I could give more effort than that, and I've not thrown a javelin since sports day in high school.

Maybe a suggestion that she's protecting an injury? I hope so, because if she is 100% fit, that is a real lack of belief that she can do better.

I'm already struggling to stay awake and now I have to listen to the dreary Andrew Cotter.:p

At least we have something else other than Kat to focus on.

Goodnight and sleep well. :)

I've started yawning now. Not sure I'll make it to 3am for the 800m of the Heptathlon.

Dafne Schippers has done rather well for herself since jacking in the heptathlon for the sprinting. Perhaps Kat should focus on the high/long jump. :o

Yeah. No fight. Not good to see at the Olympics, especially as she was in a good position for a medal before the javelin.

Unless she can really work on her throwing events, then I can't see her winning a major championships. No idea how her jumping event scores compare to the athletes that specialise in those events, but you might be on to something there, Marc. Dafne has done very well since switching.

BBC being a bit mean to KJT there, you only need to look at her arms to see she clearly isn't built for the throwing events.

They appear to have set an expectation for her in the throws which she was never going to achieve this year and then act like she's a massive failure when she's within 1m of her seasons best.
