I have noticed one minor issue playing back video (any player, I use MPC and WMP11) where there is a 1 pixel line either across the top or button of the video (between the letterbox edge and video edge)
Here's a screenshot of what I mean:

I looked for video options in CCC but could not change anything that made it go away!
Also in MPC with the 8800GT I could press 2,4,6,8 on numpad to scale the video being played vertically/horizontally etc, basically zoom it around to a custom aspect ratio or press 5 to reset to video default.
With the ATI drivers I cannot do this anymore and this is related to the line issue above because the same line issue occured on the nvidia card ONLY when I enabled EVR mode in MPC (though WMP had no issues as it didn't have an EVR mode in options)
Seems the ATI driver is forcing some kind of video layer on top possibly to improve video quality or to hardware accelerate any directshow video being played - their own EVR if you will.
Anyone know how to stop this ? or is it a CAT 8.7 bug?
I now play GRID with "ultra" settings, reflections on 1024 because of the VRAM not playing fair with only 512MB ram but with Ultra @ 4xFSAA 1920x1200 I get 60FPS.
Fair !
I used to have to have a mix of high, 512 reflections and medium trees + some ultra on the 8800GT in order to peak 60fps !
Yea coming from an 8800GT to a 4870 I noticed something looked better too.
But IMO those screenshots above dont show it.

I just realised I had VSYNC enabledturned it off and now FPS is often higher and also upped a few more settings.
Here's what I use ingame:

The ones on "HIGH" don't have an "ULTRA" setting btw :![]()
Cool video. "Shadows" show up as "high" as the max to be selected for me and "Reflections" are "Ultra". It's weird how you get 512/1024 etc?. I tried this on the 1.1 Patch and then the 1.2 Patch but still different. Strange
.
Its a user Patch...look on the GRID forums.
