Ati 4850 price released.

Yeh i think the US prices have been out or the pre-order ones at around $199 for a few days now, i think everyone here is just wondering what UK £ its gonna end up being :confused:

Hopefully nothing more than £130 and the 4850 will be flying off of the shelves, i know from what ive read so far, i will be buying one instead of the 8800GT 512MB.
 
Here's the only review I can find so far.
Apparently it beats the 8800gt hands down, and should be a similar price from what i've read so far. :D
 
Doesn't look that amazing to me.

You've got a 4ghz extreme Intel chip behind it...

I hope the 4870 has some grunt.
 
Its not about blowing away the competition though with the 4850.

End of the day its better than an 8800GT 512MB and will be similar price.

No idea about the 4870 though. I think ATI have a nice setup at the momment though, i just hope people aren't Nvidia Homers and dont buy Nvidia just because they are fanboys. I would hate to imagine Nvidia Prices with no competition :eek:
 
From what I've seen so far, I wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised to see it priced at £200ish.

Gents, excuse the newbie question, but when does the NDA lift for the 4850/70? I've heard in a couple of days in some posts, but June 23rd in others... thx.

AMD is set to launch the Radeon HD 4850 on June 18th and it is definitely a hard one with retail availability on the same day. Radeon HD 4870, however, will be launched a week later on June 25th with retail availability in July due to GDDR5 availability. Radeon HD 4870 X2 will come later in Q3.
