Ati 7.11 Drivers OUT NOW!!!

these do not work still for agp, was mentioned on rage3d forum that ati have ended agp driver support now.

why hasn't that been announced officially? do you have a link (apart from all the disgruntled end users of course.... :p)

i've had no problems with any version apart from the 7.5s which was a monitor resolution issue which affected pci-e users also....

ATI 7.11 Cats HD3870 x 2
Crysis GPU test 1920X1200 High settings (with config file tweaks)DX9
Single HD3870
min 25.57 max 43.23 AV 35.41 ... But some flashing textures
Crossfire HD3870
min 19.16 max 29.61 AV 25.66...No flashing Textures  ( we know the game does not support 2 GFX cards Yet anyway )

But single card seems to have picked up lots of performance !

In the intrest of accuracy I see some of the advanced settings are back to medium...bottom line No flashing textures playing the game  (1 HD3870) and frame rates like I have not seen before ! getting occasionally into the 50's !...sorry I don't have time to fully look into this (as I've finished the game) but would recomend these drivers over the Hotfix (which have some issued with other games) for HD3800's in Crysis and everything else, Good Job ATI :D

Ok I have just had a quick go on the crysis demo (will get the full game later on today or tommorow) and well I must say the performance improvement is quite large.

Before the best playable settings on my X1900XT were 1440x900, most things on medium, shaders on high and shadows on low. This gave me roughly 25-30fps which was quite playable.

Now with the 3850 I can play at 1680x1050 (monitors native resolution) everything on medium bar shaders and water on high. With these settings I am hovering around the mid-low 30's all the time. If I up the texture setting to high it drops to the high 20's.

Everything on medium I suddenly get mid/high 40's low 50's which I was not expecting at all.

Overall I am extremely please with this interim upgrade.

I would say though the 7.11's have quite bad texture flickering so I will be trying out the hotfix.

Well That's 2 of us so it is a massive boost ;)

funny the texture flashing does not seem to happen in game (full version) on the bits i tried anyway

also the Hotfix drivers will not give as much performance !

i have a his agp 2600xt 512mb, uninstalled the drivers, also tried using driver cleaner pro and used this driver, driver on cd & manufacturers driver and it wont connect the drivers to my graphics card, any ideas?

That is not a good idea. Get in safe mode, un-install the current drivers, restart and install the newest (7.11) drivers in safe mode again and you are go to go.

wait, ive been using all the new drivers with my agp x1950 pro

what ones should i have installed? im on vista x64

i think it's just the xp drivers that have been problematic. i always update every month and have had no problems either. (on vista32)

I dint even realise the 7.11's were out yet.

You've been too busy benching most likely :p.

I'll need to get myself on messenger sometime to have a word in your ear about just benching and not playing games though. For a young lad to have that outlook shocked me and I seriously want to change your mind on that one. Benching and squeezing the most out of your hardware is fun and all that but I bet the reason you started pushing your machine in the first place was to increase performance in a game?.

Get your headphones on. Grab a mouse that doesn't skip/miss a beat and then use UBER eye to hand co-ordination to take down your online opponents in FPS/Strategy/Sports games that you own or are interested in. Put this machine to the test in keeping a smooth enough environment for you to get your groove on and Pwn everyone woot! :D. I'm taking this a bit far but I'm just meaning start to learn a few games online and once you start to be able to compete pretty well you will know if you want to drive at it to compete or not. If not then try another game and so on. Still bench but play games too. Life is too short.......have fun :).

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Any improvements over the 7.10's then?. I've not tried them yet. Is it worth it? (I don't play Crisis).

I play TDU for racing, UT3 for shooting, abit of Kane and lynch but havent got round to installing that, and Crysis is the new benchmark, honestly who needs 3DMark when we have Crysis? :D.
