Talk to me about having both, I have 2 main concerns with this setup.
I currently have a 5970 with an i7 [email protected], I would like a Nvidia card to run some Physx as well.

My first the main concern are the mismatch of drivers.

I would have the latest 10.7's which are install after completely cleaned out the previous drivers with a driver sweaper.
What Nv drivers would I need to the Nvidia card? Will these drivers clash with ATI's and slow down system performance? I already have Physx installed to run some games and benchmarks, would this perhaps be all I will need still. If so how does the NV card know all it needs to do is run physx?

2nd would an 8800GT be up to the task along with a 5970 or would I perhaps need a 9800GTX?

Sorry to be a bit vague, it just seems an odd setup having both cards installed.

I believe that this is only possible using Windows 7. Only Windows 7 supports installing 2 seperate display drivers, thats required to both drive an ATI and nVidia in the same machine.

I'm sure someone will correct me if im wrong.

My earlier post in similar thread...

Thinking of throwing my 8800gt in with 5870,can anyone advice whats the best/latest driver to use for the 8800? On 10.04 for the 5870 atm.
Mucho thanks
*edit. been a long time since i read about hybrid physx but isnt there some kind of patch needed to be done to the driver also?
Mainly wanna try it out for mafia 2 Can then decide whether to keep the card in for when full game is out!

I believe nVidia patched their drivers from v186 to not work when another non nVidia GPU is detected. There maybe patches/hacks to remedy this, but I don't know much about that.

Well Loowi i done some digging myself and have found you need to google for 1.04ff that is a patch needed to be applied to the NV driver.
Downloading the latest NV driver now and gonna have a play, would have been nice to get some more advice but meh... geuss we see what happens.
Theres some videos around but ive yet to find 1 that you can understand properly!! :(

*EDIT scratch that!! Thanks GJ02 !! Gonna download the later driver and stuff stated on that vid ;)
The last vid i tried to follow was italian!! As you can geuss it didnt help me much :)

well i dont seem to be getting nowhere :( The download rar for the patch only has some command line files in it and not the bloody patch exe!
Have looked in NVCP but no option for physx there.. kinda stumped now.
Treid fluidmark and even though it sees both GPU's its cpu only for physx still

you must be doing something wrong as ive just downloaded them both and they have the exe file included in the rar files

Well WTF? Why am i getting 4 windows command scripts?
