ATi Catalyst 8.10 FINAL found on Guru3D

My problem with these drivers seem to be temp related, i left fan speed on auto and 30% but it kept crashing in crysis. Set the fan speed to 50% and it seems to run ok, although at some points notice 1 small white square.
Anyone else had to set the fan speed high to get stability? Im going to uninstall and download the ones from the ati site and try again.

I don't get the manual speed control?!

Did a full uninstall, reboot to safe mode, cleaned with driver sweeper and fresh install in normal Vista..

Strange - could it be because i have the Vortex Neo on my card which is plugging into my motherboard? Would have thought the option would still be there, but possibly not if it doesnt detect the fan in the header?

It would be really weird if AMD spent time coding support for 3rd party fans into their software IMO :)

It would be a big investment in their time to write the program to control the fan speed for the graphics card via every possible motherboard fan header :P. Surely it is just much simpler just to plug the fan into the graphics card fan header?

nope. i have the Vortex Neo on my 4850 and i still get the fan control in ccc.

Hmm...even with the seperate drivers and ccc, still had the same issue of major crash in Crysis unless i changed the fan speed. So it would seem that even on auto it wont adjust fan speed if temps become a problem.
