ATi Catalyst 8.10 FINAL found on Guru3D

Well, I uninstalled, then used drivercleaner... Installed 8.9 and still no shockwave in cod4

I have had ATI cards since 9500's but after using a friends 8800gt and seeing cod4 shockwaves.. I might have to get shot of my 4850.. (only had it for a few days) I had a 1800xt before this.

Or should I wait till new the full 8.10 drivers are out?

does everyone else see the grenade shockwave in cod4?

Thanks, will let you know how I get on :)

Edit: Being the lazy person I am, I just installed them over the current drivers I had, all seems well so far, haven't tried any games yet. The new style of CCC is nice though.

If all other 4850 people are seeing this shockwave then you must have a setting wrong in the ccc or in the game. What are your fps like in game?

I don't know why ATI don't make the compleat package as an available download like this as it saves time when installing & stops some people missing out on features because they did not find & download HydraVision 4 months & Avivo Video Converter which have been available for years.

This is the most stable driver set I've used for my 4870 since the 8.6 with hotfix.

Finally.

Mine defaulted the fan to manual 50% upon completion of installation - nice to see the fan controls are now in the CCC.

off topic whats the best way to install new gfx drivers?

I normally remove the driver from add/remove progs, (also run a ccleaner...think its my ocd lol) reboot the system, then install the drivers?

Just install over the top. The install manager does everything automatically (Removes, re-installs etc.)

I've never had an issue. You get to keep all your settings / profiles this way too.

Only been playing Titan Quest since putting these on, and they have intriduced a couple of graphical anomalies, which weren't there with the 8.10 RC2 betas or any other drivers.

Not bothered me that much that I will roll back, but will see how it goes with other games.

If you can not get it fixed i would reinstall the game as maybe something with your new card is conflicting with the x1800xt in saved games or settings somewhere would not be the first time something like this causes trouble when using a new card with old game installs.
