Any other sources than that one German site? For all I know it could be a bug localised to that one person's system (say, they might have configured something incorrectly, how am I supposed to know? I don't read German and the google translate doesn't help all that much).

You're assuming of course that [H] didn't disable Catalyst AI before benchmarking.
Disabling cat ai also disables crossfire though, at least its meant to. So a 5970 would only be utiising one gpu.
Thats the thing - you never really know what settings the reviewer is actually using beneath the stated "1920x1200 8x AA 16x AF" one card could be running with high quality textures and filtering optimizations off and the other running normal quality with optimizations on - and even when the same named settings are used in the control panel I'm pretty sure that ATI's "normal" quality setting and nVidias "normal" quality setting are somewhat different, the same with high quality and so on.
Well I had a quick gander through a couple of reviews and I can't really tell - I guess the point is that you're going to need to compare screenshots to be sure.
At the end of the day though, this is hardly ATI's fault - Catalyst AI has been around for a while and it's well documented in what it does. It's up to the reviewers to turn it off or for the reader to take it into account.

I remember when NV was accused of cheating in this game as well but the issues where for more obvious & they claimed that it was a bug & sorted it.
Now if ATI has always rendered this game like this then the accusation is null & void as there is nearly all ways a difference between NV & ATI rendering, but if ATI has changed the render for that game recently & indeed on standard A.I which is the default for single & CF then ATI better fix it ASAP.

Also your Thread heading implies ATI was supposedly caught cheating on something else not to long ago, have you got a link to that situation please ?.

1) when you post a thread its your duty to post the link which you did not until you were pushed.
2) if you ask people to find it themselves you also have to accept that what they my find may contradict your claims because you did not point to a specific article which your referring to.

i always have my af forced to 16x permanently, have done ever since i got my 8800gt, now hd5870 
and so i have done for crysis too, and guess what? there's absolutely no difference in speed. in my personal experiences af has no performance hit whatsoever but graphics wise, very very important. So if all that is true, not good. bi-linear filtering should stay back in the 90's. What cant be true is that speed thing, they(the nvidia sas) must really be looking at everything to find faults in ati. Shame on them

Firstly, I said it was at xtremesystems, if your to stupid to be be able to find it, then perhaps using computers is not your thing.

No clue, personaly I dont care about brand I care about price for performance. if its ATI great, if its Nvidia great - I have no loyalty.
I find it stupid when ppl stick to a certain brand normaly out of pride/spite of the other.
Like right now, -if- I was gonna buy a new gfx card It would be a 5850 and then overclock it to 5870+ because -I- feel thats the best value for money atm for performance. If there is any better then I'm all ears. But I dont go bashing Nvidia's new card as I dont see the point in kicking a company while its down ! haha I'm sure they will take a lot from this and price more accordingly in the future maybe? idk healthy competition only benifits us as they drive each others prices down (or should do atleast)
