Hello folks,
Appreciate that most games at the time of its release are nvidia optimized. However, whether I use my 4870 512 or 4870 X 2 its very choppy framerates. I guess it must be the way its coded. I'll try clocking my cpu again and soon will have a bigger monitor so I realize that I can't yet fully unleash my X 2's power when gaming at 1650 * 1080. I'll go on Bethesda webby and see if there any patches. Anyone else noticed this?

I run it at max on mine and it runs pretty well. Some slowdown when in an intense fight etc, but other than that seems smooth. I get judder etc when loading a new section of map but thats due to the RAM i feel

Mine is silky smooth after turning off the vsync for this game via fallout.ini file, it's in your save game folder in "my documents\my games", and change the setting iPresentinterval=1 to iPresentinterval=0.

It runs pretty perfectly for me, also using a 4870x2, max settings with 8x AA/15x AF. Definitely try clocking your processor to 3Ghz+.

He is running his Q6600 at stock so that could have a part to play with the problem.

Not really I'm running it fine with an E6420@ stock...

Also It feels smoother with vsync on oddly for me, it's usually stuck at 60 fps except when there's heavy smoke ( eg. in one of the main quests where a certain robot takes off) then it drops to 30...
