ATI HDMI - No Display When Waking From Sleep

I'm running Windows 7 SP1 x86 and an ATI 5450 in my HTPC, which is connected to an Onkyo 605 via HDMI. Leaving the TV and reciever on, the HTPC wakes from sleep to a blank screen. This issue appears to be EDID related from a google, however, most of the threads are old (2009) and I wondered if there was ever a solution to this or something I'm missing?

I'm running the latest drivers etc etc

I used to got picture but no sound, i assume drive updates fixed it...obviously not.

I know its a pain but unplugging the HDMI fixed the issue without a re-boot.

Tried it on a normal connection/monitor setup?

Reason I say this is because I've had in the past issues with software locking the gpu from waking up.

Does the normal put display to sleep work?

I used to unplug and replug the hdmi mini from my 4870x2 and this made the tv wake up.

windows key+P might fix it from a keyboard.

I'm having the exact same problem, but with a direct connection from my 4850 to my Panasonic TV (DVI > HDMI). As far as I'm aware, the 4850 is not properly "handshaking" with the TV, hence I'm getting no picture. Sometimes when I plug it into a different HDMI slot it works, but most of the time it doesn't. Very annoying.

I used to get this with my 8800GTS.

Never fixed it, had to restart my PC.

Restart doesn't even fix it for me. TV just never displays

Sorry for the thread revival but using an Nvidia card (Asus 210GT) HDMI > HDMI solved this for me... happy days!

I've done the same and went for the GT 520. The issue has also miraculously been resolved :rolleyes:

ATi - how have you not fixed an issue that appears to have been reported several card generations ago.
