Symptoms:

Intermittent stuttering issues seen when running various 3D applications

Solution:

Download and install the following Hotfix by clicking on the appropriate link below:

At last ! fingers crossed this sorts it. Been well impressed with the cards 3D perfomance in Dirt ! Orange box, Stalker etc but it sometimes flickers like crazy in browsers, Cinema 4D dual screen & sam & max.

Clocks solid now.

Powerplay problems looked like they are sorted on the X2.

Its just a hotfix to sort the powerplay problem.Your have to wait for the true 8.4 to see any real boost.(if any from 8.4) never expected a boost but will be more than happy if it sorts the PP issue until 8.4 shame it took so long .

Not meant to give a frame rate improvement, it says in the first post what its meant to fix.

Its the same in COD4 for me as Cat 8.3's bad screen flicker following flash nade.....I think I will be rolling back to 8.2 and wait for 8.4

This hotfix has fixed the flicker from flashes in CoD4 and CSS for me.

Were you running 8.2 and installed these right over the top of them, no unistalling or driver sweeper ??

Is there a problem with powerplay with the single gpu 3870s cos I haven't noticed it..I know it's with the 3870x2?

Maybe I should put the hotfix on in case...

is it just me or does my card run hotter than it did before the hotfix was applied ? , it hit 76c while playing bioshock but before it only hit 68c . i have noticed though it ran smoother and looked alittle better

It makes sense with it running hotter with it not now clocking down with the issue sorted - temps not getting a break which is what it should be like now.
