What VDDCI Voltage are you guys using?

Im still at the stock 1.487V and I cant pass more than 805mhz on mem

Edit: 1.5V on VDDCI and I have 810mhz @ 2.130V!!!

I give up. If it messes around with my Conroe rig them in getting a R600.

Have you made another profile and then clicked the set clock button? My settings stick, I'm just a bit worried about running the VGPU at 1.35v 24/7. I think I'm just gonna keep switching between profiles when I'm not gaming.

Both GPUs are fine up to 1.45V if you keep them at a sane temp, Under 70C.

Maybe so, but they're not meant to be run at those voltages all the time.

I would keep it in 3D but I fear the same, my 2D/3D changes are flakey to say the least

Anyone else not able to pass 801 mhz on the mem?

Whatever I do I just cannot get past 801mhz, 805/810 etc all checkerboard in the 5th or 6th test of my 20 Loop test of Nature in 2004 with AA and AF enabled @ 1600x1200.

Mem voltage is on both mem + other thing..

625/801 @ 1.400/2.120V = fine
650/801 @ 1.425/2.120V = fine
650/810 @ 1.425/2.120V = 5th test checkerboard
650/810 @ 1.425/2.140V = 6th test checkerboard
625/810 @ 1.425/2.140V = 6th test checkerboard
650/810 @ 1.450/2.140V = 6th test checkerboard
650/810 @ 1.450/2.160V = 6th test checkerboard
675/801 @ 1.450/2.120V = 20 passes and still going

Temps are under 65C (90% fan @ 65C, 100% at 70C).

I would expect increasing voltage would keep it stable for long enough, but it just doesn't. Increasing the bottom voltage did nothing, well so far

Any ideas??

Have you tried lowering the memory voltage? I've seen some do better with volts as low as 1.9v.

Hmm, as soon as I lower the voltage it crashes again ill try 1.9/2V.

YOu make another = 3D

Then you use 3D detection to switch between the two.

I can't wait to switch over to nvidia again, ocing is so much easier(except from voltage control). Still, I did almost pulled 11,3k in 3dmark 05 with my x1800xt

So, what's the best oc here yet? No offence, but 675/801 isn't too much of a overclock... We all can't be lucky, eyhh?

Nah, this XT is bog standard/failed/pooey etc.

Next time ill wait ~2 months then buy a XT-X or whatever the top one is...

My screen only goes blank when the clocks are too high for the voltage.

Set 1.4/2.089/2.089/1.500 then set 650/775.

Though the cores seem to clock about the same on both the XTs and the XTXs, the memory does certainly seem better on the XTXs. My XTX can get 720/846 on stock volts, and a bump in volts can take the memory to 890mhz for benching with 870mhz for fully stable.

I can get a pass up to nearly 900mhz with my XT, can't do that in games tho, dam ATI stopping XTs clocking

On another nite BF2 now runs @ 675/801 when I raised my PCI-E freq to 108

However that video big is ******* me off clocks go to 400/600 :/

I have tried uping the volt, still blank screen & lockup.

Uninstalled everything drivers, ati tool & ati tray.

Still blank screen and lock ups.

Could it be my power supply is not enought. Enermax Liberty 500W ELT500AWT ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU

What else could it be.

Got this then it locked up and crashed

DONT USE THE AUTO CLOCKS IT DOES NOT WORK.

OK so how long do you leave ATI Tool scan for artifacts before you increase the clock.

It doesn't detect them, you can use the ATi Tool 3D cube to test if you want.

So is that good for stock Volts.

Beter than mine!!!

I top out at 670/801 at 1.425/2.060/2.060/1.580.

Raise the bottom voltage to 1.580V and try get more mem.

Plus try and keep temps under 70C or it WILL lock.

Conc - Just read your opening post and a few other threads that you commented it on. Can you help clarify what you meant as i am kinda new to ATI so don't quite understand the concepts.

A guy mentioned he had 9.5K on 3dmark05 but you said that was only 2D mode and should get 11k in 3d mode?. What is the difference?? Do i have to do something to my card profile wise so that it run or enable 3d mode? I kinda briefly grasped this thinking that 3d mode should kick in applications and games when need be or should i require to basically do something software wise before it can run properly??

From reading the opening page what i can tell

"Right, now onto 3D. Create another profile called .3D stock’.
Click settings at the bottom right, from the drop down menu, go to Fan Settings, set this how you want to run 24/7, apply and save to the profile ‘3D stock’. Then go to Voltages and set: 1.4/2.089/2.089/1.487 in that order as you go down the settings. Then apply and save to ‘3D stock’.

Now go back to the clocks page. Set clocks at:
X1900XT: 625/725
X1900XT Crossfire Master Card: 625/725
X1900XTX: 650/775

Apply, then save to the profile ‘3D stock’."

That not even into overclocking yet so i can do that without any issues right? I feel i don't need to overclock if i can help it as i think it more than enough to do what i want.

Those are the cards stock clocks + voltages. It isn't overclocking until you pass them .

3D detection works by enabling the 3D detection from the settings panel. Select whatever profile for 3D, and set one for 2D and set another one for boot if you want, EG. 2D.

Some games don't trigger the 3D switch, so you have to force it.

EVE Online and CoD2 are the two I have to force.

I just installed ATITool on my new PC and and it gives me an error message saying...

I've had a look on the Techpowerup forums but I can't see anything that will fix it. I'm using the 6.5s.

Thats weird! New install of windows or drivers removed and reinstalled?

Driver clean them all and install Omegas TBH much better IQ and updated ATT

During 2005 you can press esc and cancel the CPU tests. Im sure you arn't in 3D mode as you should be getting well over 10k, 9-10k is 2D mode, i've tested on my PC and I got 9467 in 2D mode

Sliders set to perfromace, all AA and AF off? Have you got a 2nd screen you can plug in and watch the clocks on the 2nd screen?

On the ATi Tool not working front, I have no idea mate, I've never seen that before
