Atlas (May 24, Netflix)

I tried to watch this last night and couldn't even get beyond 10 minutes of it. Just turned it off, and I very rarely do that.

Incredibly dire script, hammy acting, generic music scoring , generic sci fi aesthetic, weak attempts at humour.

Just absolutely awful. Felt like it was written by a 10 year old or a computer.

I thought The Creator was awful too, but at least that had some redeeming features like the design aesthetics/CGI/score.

Ironically, both are about AI and yet feel like they were written by AI.

This was somehow a new level of awful though.

They just can't make a decent film anymore :(

I've been re-watching more and more of the old classics as all the modern stuff is so dire.

Yeh, most stuff is just so poorly written, filled with cliche and overly tired tropes. Rarely see anything that original or well written these days.

Not surprising though when there is just so much churned out all the time to keep all these streaming services relevant/getting new users.
