Just 3 examples here of superior atmospheres inside stadia when compared with those in the big european leagues, EPL, La Liga, Seria A and Bundesliga.

Why is this?
Liverpool fans and the two up in Scotland like to think they have the best set of fans in the world, When nothing they do can even remotely match the fans in Turkey, Greece, Poland, Serbia, Croatia and Argentina.

What do you mean by 'match the fans'?

We're not as murderous or racist as the turks or iti's, for example. Noise != atmosphere.

Well, Mainly the noise they create, The imagination they have of doing crazy things inside stadia's, The flares and the Jumping up and down.

Well you get the idea, The whole atmosphere is so much better out there than it is here and most other european leagues.

Imagination of jumping up and down  How long did it take them to think that up?

I'd rather be in a rocking stadium here and know I was relatively safe than out there. Giving t*rks as a prime example of how fans should behave is indicative of your level of knowledge.

Fanaticism can be linked with extremism. Going too far with something.

That isn't a good thing.

Yea, Singing the same thing over and over again.

Great, Just what everyone wants to hear.
Not saying it's bad, Just nowhere near the level of fanaticism displayed in those nations.

its their song, would you rather they picked a new one every week?

do you even support a team or go to any of their matches?

I agree to an extent, Sometimes it does go overboard and i don't condone what goes on in those nations.

Just saying i would much prefer the level of support they dish out compared to the boring same old crap we get over in the UK and other european nations.

I don't support any given team here in the UK, But i have been to a few games in London.

Arsenal and Tottenham to be precise.
I've been to Istanbul and seen games between the big 3 over there, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş and Galatasaray and i much prefer watching and getting involved over there than i would ever do here.

lol - i thought so

go to an old firm match, you will soon change your mind

To be honest the atmosphere is quite poor in the premierleague. Anfield has been relatively quiet last few times I have been there.

Fans just don't get as worked up as they used to - probably to do with a demographic change in the people who go to games.

this is due to the recession and the increasing ticket prices. real fans have had to give up their tickets and more business men going to the matches now in their suits. i think you will see more of this in the future, especially at the london clubs.

Atmosphere went quiet in our grounds when standing up was banned. You used to stand with your mates in a group and get songs going. Now because of the way season tickets got distributed etc you aren't necessarily next to your pals and less likely to start songs off on your own.

The European leagues still have 'ultras' and groups of fans that organise the sing songs via megaphones and, as shown in those videos, blokes on the pitch to start it off. Benfica even have a blooming big daft eagle that they let loose at the start of each game.

The atmosphere in European grounds might appear to be more noisey and 'up for it' but it is very contrived.

The atmosphere when I went to see Frankfurt play was absolutely rocking - mainly because we were in the terraces though and everyone was bouncing up and down and singing. Fully seated stadiums have a strongly negative impact on atmosphere (although I understand why we have them).

Atmosphere when you go to a game in Europe as an away fan is amazing because:

a- You have invariably been drinking most of the day before the game and are in a big, vocal mob
b- You stand up in the seating area with your mates- it's a grab where you can rule, the seat number printed on your ticket is meaningless.

I think a lot has to be down to the amount of cannon fodder in the premiership these days, I was a old trafford at the weekend and to be honest everyone in the ground new west ham were there for the taking, the team didn't really need lifting to beat them

Luckily I was in the stretford end so there was a bit of atmosphere but for the main we were just waiting for the goals tbh
