Atos subcontracts disability tests to NHS

I had an atos test and the woman who "interviewed" me did not understand what a "consultant clinical psychologist" or a "nurse consultant" was.

She did not believe they were qualified to diagnose me as autistic, When I dared to argue they were she threatened to kick me and my career out.

she seemed to be under the impression nurse consultants are just low rank people lol

Diploma or degree in nursing
Masters level education in advanced clinical practice
Has or working towards PhD
Post graduate research training
Teaching and assessing in clinical practice
May have additional qualifications related to a specialist area (mine clearly has some autism qualifications to be listed on a bunch of autism websites as a specialist)

the guy on my letter is also on a bunch of websites.... one lists him as
Nurse Consultant in Autism for NTW

guess he isn't qualified enough then :rolleyes: it's not like he's an autism specialist

I swear the atos people are not qualified to be talking to anyone with mental disabilities

Hopefully they'll continue to get bad press and be replaced with someone more competent.
 
They are a IT firm. There was a site called carerwatch dot com. They had it shut down ? ATOS! The forum is run by the successful campaign group CarerWatch, was taken offline after its hosting company was contacted by lawyers acting for multinational technology firm Atos.

But it is now back online on a offshore server carerwatchdotcom.myfineforum.org.

A IT slash 'professional' Doctor firm got a care forum shut down ?

Because the management & administration would then have to be done by a Govt Department / qango and would cost more than we pay Atos to administer & manage it. They are a large outsourcing & management company and benefit from economies of scale. Plus if they screw it up you don;t renew the contract so it is in their interest to do the best possible job.

Read my post they clearly are not educated enough or have the qualifications to be assessing anyone with mental disabilities if they don't even understand what a consultant clinical psychologist or a nurse consultant are.

What qualifications are the assesses supposed to have? they seem to be nothing more than data input people doing what a computer screen tells them yet dare to argue with people who have medical evidence from professionals who likely have more qualifications than atos have combined.

There is a genuine risk of causing distress and depression in the most vulnerable members of society some who are likely to be unstable and may take their own life if they aren't given the support they need to cope which atos would gladly take away from them regardless of what medical evidence they have

As far as the government are concerned, their contract is with ATOS. Their SLAs, Ts&Cs and all that contractual guff is with ATOS and the buck stops there.

Whoever ATOS get to do the work is irrelevant, all the government care about is getting what they paid for. All ATOS care about is doing that as cost effectively as possible, it wouldn't surprise me if ATOS have stricter SLAs and Ts&Cs with the NHS than the government did so they can beat them harder when the government beats them.

It's not healthcare to them, it's business and margins.

Atos - When I had to deal with them both professionally & personally were crap.

DWP - The frontline grunts take the kicking for the retarted ministers who change policy every 2 minutes. political football.

(Former DWP worker & ATOS dealt-wither :P )
 
this is a classic case of creaming the pot, much like money laundering, it makes me sick to the stomach.

someone somewhere is getting kickbacks for this setup, all the while we wallow around, blaming bankers, they learn from it and continue to rip us off.
 
ATOS are a bunch of ******s to put it nicely. My friend who has a terminal condition was declared fit for work. He cant even walk up the stairsd without loosing his breath and putting him on his arse. Hes due a lung transplant this year.

Fit for work my arse.

did he attend the interview clean shaven lol?

They seem to make the snide remark about being able to shave to everyone it's almost like "you can shave , you can work"

DWP make the decisions and manage the process anyway , the only thing you get from atos is a small survey and a date for your assessment everything else is handled by the DWP.

It all seems like a waste of time and money to me
