I'm not taking anything as a bad thing..just saying it looks like i'm not normal.

Well you rolled your eyes...that doesnt usually imply a positive meaning..

If you dress in an extreme fringe style, then no, youre not normal. Maybe its the wording you have a problem with...Would unusual be better?

Not always. I was rolling my eyes at the defintion of normal and that it's clear i'm not normal. Blimey, maybe it's best not to use emoticons if people read this much into them. =/ (I used that one as a sideways face showing i am unsure etc).

I don't have a problem with the wording. I am being who i want to be and i have no problem with that. Other people do have a problem with the way people dress, that's all.

*yawn*

are we not tiring of the emo debate? if you have a problem with emo music or people who follow it, it would seem that the insecurities are a little closer to home than you'd imagine. from what i can see, the original post doesn't contain one clever line/comment, it's just a rant from someone who refuses to accept that different people can live alongside each other. do the people that despise emo kids so much, also hate people with a different colour skin to them?

surely if "an emo" (i hate that phrase...emo is an adjective) thinks he/she looks cool dressing how they dress, it's up to them; not you. if they are inspired by the music they listen to, and the life they choose to lead, to write poetry - that's their choice; not yours. if they don't want to smile in photographs, they don't have to...it doesnt say anywhere that you must smile in photographs (if it does, i've missed it).

the same goes for all the teen subcultures we've got going on...if someone wants to wear trackies all day, and tuck them into their socks...that's fine - they obviously like it. if someone wants to wear drainpipes and sweep their hair over their eye, why is there a problem with that? because you don't like it? who the hell made you judge, jury and executioner?!

Wtfark.

I don't mind. I have jeans. I have hoodies. I am a fringe. I am myself.

Sic. <3

You moaned that you think that Balddog doesn't think you are normal. So does that mean that you want to be thought of as normal?
If you don't mind then what was with the rolleyes?
Why not just stop worrying about what anyone else thinks, accept that everyone including yourself does make judgements on people based purely on appearance, and get on with whatever you do.

I'm not moaning, i'm questioning. I dress normal some days and not normal other days, i don't have one particular style.

The rolling eyes wasn't aimed at anyone so maybe i'll remove it.

Christ, i'm not worrying in the slighest. I don't like people pre-judging for illogical reasons. I know people make judgements based on appearances, it goes without saying. I do also and i did with the goth shop story. I felt intimidated by the bloke outside.

hmmmmmmmmmmm

Sidewinder to be honest your boringly normal. People that arent normal have a more eccentric personality. You have not displayed this trait. Your just one of many apes that walk this earth, one of many!

i've not read the thread in detail, but i can understand where SideWinder's coming from. (contrary to what my signature says) i wouldn't want people prejudging me based on the clothes i feel comfortable in, and making assumptions on ridiculous potential aspects of my personality based on my hair colour and whether i part it at the side. surely all the ****-takers can see why this is SO retarded?

I don't really care what you think as you don't know me. :o

Thats fine...but why arent I entitled to my opinions on such people? Are we not allowed to like and dislike things?

Nobody is saying they arent allowed to dress like that..They can dress however they please...but by the same token, I can hold whatever personal opinion that I please...

You complain about people that cant accept differences yet you go on to have a go at people just because they have a differing opinion to you...How does that work then?

so, you think it's logical to prejudge a person purely because of their appearance? why is this so unacceptable with racism, but it's fine when you're winding up an emo kid? i'm not saying people can't have an opinion, but the original post attempts to label all emo kids as whiney, poetry-writing, self-mutilators. would you agree that this is an accurate assumption, or the BS rant of some narrow-minded, ill-educated (not scholastically, before someone picks a hole in that) individual?

surely you know that someone's personality doesnt instantly change because they put on a pair of tight jeans!?

i'm not having a go at people who have a different opinion to mine, because their opinion is on a totally different gradient to mine, and i think it's unacceptable to hate/reject a person/group of people based on their opinion. now, if you advocate racism in any form, let me know so i know where i stand with you on this debate
