Im thinking more of the fans than the bands..
The stereotype comes from the lyrics...Very depressing and dark and often some self destructive stuff..thats where its from..
Most emos are skinny as hell and its accentuated by the tight as hell trousers and shirts..the long fringes contribute to the image of being a pushover..covering the face, it seems like theyre covering up..
Why do you dislike it? Its accurate...MOST, not all...Most emos are wimpy kids with low self confidence...If you are actually an emo, are you invoved in the scene? If so, you must have seen this...
Okay, what do you label yourself as?
Correct, i agree with that but it depends on the band.

I have only seen a handful of 'larger built' emos. The majority of them are goths instead with baggy jeans and band hoodies plastered with make-up. Would you say that the majority of chavs have short hair so they're not covering up? Understand where you're coming from. If i wore bright yellow suits, i would be full of confidence and want to stand out?
I dislike it because the emo arguement is on going, remember the previous emo thread? Didn't that last 15+ pages? I don't like the way people judge emos, assume they sit in their rooms and cut themselves, don't smile and are generally depressed. Yes i don't dispute that might be the case for some but not for all. The 'scene'? Sure i go to music gigs of this genre and yes i have a few emo friends. I guess this means i'm in with 'the scene'...?
