I think it's fair to say many people who fold or crunch are always preparing their next upgrade :D

My 580s are staying put for a while until I can afford a couple of 690s. With two young children and xmas round the corner it will probably be a long while before 690s are in reach.

My next planned upgrade is getting another i7 to replace my i5 and possibly upgrading the 470s to 5 series cards. Mainly for folding/crunching performance but the rig is also used by friends to play BF3.

Hmm, something broke overnight with all these recommended tweaks. Instead of an increased PPD I've got nada. Even more weirdly, having restarted things, the 7 client is now displaying the SMP WU's progress as if it's off the GPU and vice versa.

Well, bad luck strikes again......

Had to RMA one of my Motherboards as it's decided not to participate anymore. On the brightside I've decided to replace it - was AMD so switching to Intel.

This means once I verify that the new Piledriver CPU is Ok it'll be getting sold on - along with 2 x GTX 480's & 2 x GTX 460's.

Currently down to 2 x GTX660Ti's, 4 x GTX570's & 3 x GTX680's (I still need to RMA the fourth one as it too decided not to participate), 990x, 3770K & 2 x 2600k's.

On the bright side I currently have two 8057's on the go which has boosted my PPD to 550K.

GTX660Ti TPF: 2:03m = 129K ppd
GTX570 TPF: 1:51m = 151K ppd

Folding@Home - saving lives and killing GPUs on a daily basis :D

One of my 470s is feeling poorly but I'll continue folding without mercy until it gives out. It's a good excuse for more upgrades.

Set my 670 up, got a 8018 and its saying estimated credit 5757 points. Is that right.

Got my passkey setup and using V7, for somereason i dont seem to be getting the bonus points for my smp anymore either.

Currently folding a 8018 on the gpu and a 8049 on the smp with a ppd of 29674, doesnt seem right.

Thats the right amount of credits for a 8018, they are not the QRB work units, those are 8057's

PPD for a 8018 is probably around 19-20K for a 670, not surew what you are using the the CPU but I get around 19K on a [email protected] while gpu crunching on the same machine.

Not got my 2600 overclocked yet but its says 10,965ppd.

Cant decide if i should put my old 460 in there as well, but worried at the wattage cost then.

Sounds about right then, overclocking the CPU will near double its output, putting a 460 in there will help more right now with the new WU's but the more gpus you have the less cpu power you have left over to crunch.

You have the worst luck loudbob

You just had to tempt fate........

They say bad things always come in three's......

Well it has been confirmed :(

My RE3 motherboard is toast!!!!!!

I guess watercooled rigs can catch fire :(

Should have a replacement motherboard for the earlier mishap with the AMD board on monday and with any luck I might be able to get a replacement RE3 later in the week which would just leave the GTX680 that needs returning.

I'm getting quite a few CORE_OUTDATED errors which has stopped one of my GPUs folding a 7xxx WU. Where do I get a newer core to replace 2.22? I need something to get rid of this unit and back on the 8018/8057s again.
