Audeze Mobius - Closed Planar magnetic headphone, gaming headset, head tracking, bluetooth and more!

Is the new firmware usable yet? I have the new app but a few features like head movement to press an ingame button are disabled and the mode button. The links on the site have been removed to firmware.

Mine works for head gestures, using it for 'lean' in PUBG. Have to check the box for 'Head Gestures Beta' Yours greyed out?

It's not there because they have removed the firmware file from the website sadly. Can anyone host the latest May 2019 firmware files please?

Also is using the Hidiz AP80 as a USB DAC still the only way to get LDAC Bluetooth out of windows 10? The latency of normal Bluetooth is annoying during podcasts. Can't really go wired right now as I have to keep feeding a new baby :P

You don't need the new firmware to use the features in the HQ app like head gestures. Make sure you download the latest HQ App from the Audeze Mobius website.

So my HD598s are getting long in the tooth, bit mucky etc. Do these genuinely live up to the hype and reviews?

I'm being a bit dim but do I need a soundcard to use them with my PC? Currently got an Essence STX that I have my HD598s going through..

Hi Ryan,

These have their own Audeze DAC and AMP built in so no need for soundcard.

They do need to be wired to use VOIP whilst gaming, which doesnt make it a true wireless gaming headset. The 3D sound is very good in games and even for music. Magnetic planars at this pricepoint is a bit of a steal. Isolation is a bit lacking also but changing the earpads is meant to tackle this issue.

Depends if you need a mic built in for gaming. I've certainly listened to a lot more music since owning them and they are good via bluetooth if you TV supports it for surround in films. Good also via bluetooth via highres player/ phone.

I'm no audiophile so you may want a cleaner, more pure representation though there are plenty of EQ options and these are also marketed as monitor phones for music production. REally love mine but concerned about the longevity of the USB socket in the headset.

I have now sampled LDAC Bluetooth via my phone. STUNNING! Why on earth isn't there any way of getting LDAC out of a PC?

Is this purely for gaming? Or will you use them for music and movies too?

Oh my! Have you tried this out? I'm very interested to hear about your experience.

No, sorry, I haven't tried it out. It's something I was looking into a while back, but decided to save my money for a new VR headset instead.

Fiio have a few different USB DACs that can do this. They are a nice looking unit aren't they?

Was thinking off getting a pair of these, everyone agrees the earphone part is good, but what the mic like

The Mic is excellent. IT 'was' too sensitive in the beginning and a mic sock sorted that, but since they have released a firmware update which changed the 'noise gate' setting, but I still find adding a mic sock is best as it doesnt come with one and the mic hole wont get filled with spittle (This is from all the swearing I do berating those that are better than me - which is everyone). My mates say it's a very good mic from their end. Had telephone calls via phone with them aswell and people say how clear I sound.

Don't use the Mic that often, but, haven't had any complaints when I do use it, so I guess it's working ok. They did have an issue in the beginning but sorted it out pretty quickly.

Would be a combination of all 3. Primary use would be as a replacement for my HD598s when gaming but I also do enjoy listening to music and binge watching random Netflix series.

I am completely biased here, but, I think the Mobius is amazing at all 3. I bought mine primarily for gaming and I do use them for gaming, but, because they sound so good, I have been using them mostly for listening to music and watching movies.

And you don't need a sound card or an amp. Everything is built into the headset.

Any questions just ask, will try to answer as honestly as I can!!
