Audi A4 Cabriolet

There was a facelift but it was later on the convertible, circa 2006.

Whatever you do avoid the Multitronic models. It is a notoriously unreliable CVT transmission. Run away from these.

I see there is a B6, B7 and B8 chassis.

B6 chassis 2001 - December 2004.
B7 chassis from Jan 2005.
B8 chassis from Jan 2007

edit:

Confused

From here: http://www.audi.co.uk/used-cars/use...taunton/602553119-12134.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_

the 3.0 TDI quattro S-Line is 0-60 in 9.7 secs...

but from here: http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/facts-and-figures/audi/a4/cabriolet-2006/

3.0 TDi quattro S Line 2d 0-60 says 7.1 secs

So which is right :D

The B8 came out in 2008. The B7 is just a facelift B6.

Remember the cab was a year or so behind the saloon so was facelifted later.

Does anyone want my wife? Now she wants 2 cars in the 13k budget. An Audi cab and a honda cr-v. Seriously!

lol.

So today I went to see a 3.2 quattro with 1 owner, 27k miles, sat nav, parking sensor etc. Its in great condition pretty darn spotless. Full audi service history too.

Now I've worked out the road tax, insurance and petrol costs, but can anyone recommend an estimate on how much I should put away monthly for tyres and servicing etc on the 3.2 vs the 2tfsi?

Ok cool. The last service was done about 3k miles ago according to the book.

When starting the car, it says service due 6000 miles, 20 days.

What are the intervals on them? That seems rather close?

I don't know how the Audi servicing works unfortunately, if it was a BMW I'd be concerned, but it might just be to the next service item which could be brake fluid or something? Somebody who knows better needs to answer that.

If it's set up for variable servicing then you can get up to 15k miles, even more depending on use pattern.

If not it'll default to a shorter interval like 10k.

Sounds like its on fixed servicing then, meaning its due a service in 6000 miles or 20 days, whichever is soonest. Did you see when the last service was carried out?

I will find out. I notice on the last MOT the tyre treads were 3mm so they will need replacing soon too. They are 235 45 R17's. Any recommendations on a tyre for them so I can price that too please

yeah audi's have a moronic long life service schedule which is awful for the cars and should be avoided at all costs. if the one you buy is on it insist it's changed once the next service is completed.

Each to their own but I disagree. If I wasn't on variable servicing I'd sometimes be servicing every 3 months when virtually every mile has been done at 65-75mph on the motorway.

I'd be throwing money away if I had it serviced every 10k. Modern oils that are used in AVS are easily good enough for 15k miles and 5 months.
