Hey, never posted in ehre so please be nice :d, looking to buy an Audi A4 2.0 TDI anyone own one (or similar) and can give me their views?
 
Generic questions will follow:

What's your annual mileage?
Budget?
Current Car?

Then you will be advised to get a Mondeo 9/10 times...
 
lol, my budget is about £11k current car is a Y reg astra will never be able to estimate my mileage i normally only go too and from work which is only a 5 min drive but every so often take a long trip somewhere

alright mate, was only asking as he suggested buying a petrol, was more interested in his view of the differences between the two and why buying a petrol would be more beneficial..
 
A petrol A4 will:

- Get less MPG than a diesel
- Will be cheaper to fix
- You will get a newer or better car for the same money
- You don't do enough miles day to day to make the extra MPG make any difference
- Won't sound like a tractor

A Diesel A4 will

- Get more MPG
- Will generate more expensive repair bills
- Will drive and sounds like a tractor
- Will be an older or lesser specification car for the same money

I will keep this in mind mate thank you :-)
 
What you need to figure out is how many miles you actually do per year and work from that.

Something else to take into account is diesel engines takes ages to warm up, they hate doing short trips.
 
Don't buy a diesel doing that mileage, A4 in that price bracket all have DPFs right?

Short journeys will result in big bills.

As already said you can get a better specced car for the money for buying petreol

For that budget and your low mileage all sorts of great cars are available.
 
I drove an A4 TDI, thought it was as dull as anything. It made my 75 feel interesting!

Edit: Think it was an 04 or 54 plate though, so could have been a different version. Still, have a drive first.
