Tbh not sure I could live with one as a first car as I learnt in my dad's 1.8T skoda superb and ran it for a couple of months after passing until i got my car- he works away so didn't need it- i liked the way it drove just not the way it drank fuel- used to see 18mpg on my way to school!

My Fathers company used to run A4's back in the late 90's, 3 of the 4 they had were troublesome in the extreme,(the 4th was a great car!) they were replaced by that much Fox hated car, the e36 3 series BMW.
The BMW's were a lot better, one of the 323's they ran is still going strong after 230k !
In general, I believe the A4 a good car, personally, I prefer the 3 series, each to his own though.
