Get a free alignment check at kwik fit or similar, as this is not normalMy 2015 A7 BiTDI seems to be chewing through the inner side of the front tyres - more so on the left than the right. A couple of garages have said that it is normal due to the camber but if that was the case then would the wear not be roughly even? The front tyres are just over a year old and have done around 11k miles - I can see threads all the way around on inside edge of the nearside front, whereas the offside front looks absolutely fine.
I wondered if alignment/tracking should be checked, but surely garages would have suggested that?
What do you guys think?
Thanks for the suggestion. Just managed to book one for 12:30. Will report back shortlyGet a free alignment check at kwik fit or similar, as this is not normal
They confirmed that tracking needs to be done for the front wheels. Thanks againGet a free alignment check at kwik fit or similar, as this is not normal

I'm not sure i'd call my car very engaging at the minute, has power when the gear box decides it wants to drop the gear and go. I'm not sure ethically it's great but i've got a couple of issues with the car that whilst not major i can't be bothered fixing so thinking of trading it in, WBAC quote 7500 and i'll PCP the extra until i cash some shares in next year. Looking up to 30k so financing 23kish of that. Ideally want a bit of a boot, not fussed if its hatchback or saloon style as long as seats go down for tip runs. I'll usually just have two kids in the back but occasionally 3 kids so a bit of room for them to fit, ones in a booster seat the older two are not which has freed up a lot of space. A bit of leg room in the rear so the kids can put a small bag in front of them and a refined cabin in front with heated seats (cooled would be ace but not seen it on any) and a reverse camera. I've done just under 20k in my car in 4 years of ownership so i don't do loads of miles, it'll go up a bit now as i'm a bit further out but still around 6-7k a year so i don't think i need to care to much around mpg.Audi is a nice place to be. Driving experience isn't particularly engaging, but solid interior with decent materials. Can't see the point of a Q5 personally as the boot is rather small so might as well just get an A4/A6...
No idea what your budget is or whether you're looking at new or used, but can highly recommend the Q7

Make sure the lower rear suspension bushes are in good order. The original ones are oil filled, they split and give lots of movement knocking the geometry out.
We went for a Q7 because we often have someone in the middle between 2 child seats in the back and the 3 individual seats are great for this. If you don't mind the badge, a Skoda Superb would fit your requirements perfectly.I'm not sure i'd call my car very engaging at the minute, has power when the gear box decides it wants to drop the gear and go. Oh and i don't want it to be much if any slower than mine. According to auto trader it does 60 in 6.1 seconds, however that also claims i do 34mpg on urban when i get around 22
**edit**
Q7 would be just in budget with something like this link (air suspension would be comfy) or this link but seemingly no air suspension, i'd be aiming for approved used for the warranty. mileage is a little high but given the service history you'd hope it would be ok.
I did ask them to check for other potential issues and was told that there was nothing obvious, but have no idea what was actually checked. Is this something I should get checked sooner rather than later, or can I just see how it goes?
I'm in a 3 series GT. Did have a look at the Skoda Superb just not sure on design/badge and infotainment system. We went for a Q7 because we often have someone in the middle between 2 child seats in the back and the 3 individual seats are great for this. Masses of rear legroom, gigantic boot and as your mileage is relatively low, you can get the 2.0 Turbo petrol.
What do you currently have?
The Left Front Camber would ideally need looking at if you want to get picky, being 3x higher than the right side, so the top of the FL tyre is pushed "in" more than the top of the FR tyre, which will increase the inner edge wear on that FL tyre slightly faster than the FR one.
On the A7 the camber is a set/static figure but it is adjusted via the whole subframe being moved (not by individual arms) so in this case both sides should read close to -1.1° but the subframe is probably shifted slightly to the right so the right side has lost about 0.6° (dropped to -0.53°) and the left side gained about 0.6° (-1.65°).
Shifting the subframe is a bit of a bugger of a job for an "normal" garage to faff about with compared to the extremely simple "adjustable arms" version, so its mostly likely the garage who did your alignment didn't try to fix this. If you really wanted it sorted I'd estimate it'd be about £100-150 which is a lot for something something that, whilst it IS out, isn't so far out that it "needs" doing immediately. I'd leave it a few thousand miles and check the tyres again to see if there's any noticeable difference in wear on the inner edges again.
It’ll be in your warranty T&Cs.Any recommendations on these? And if I fit these parts outside of an Audi garage will I still keep within the warranty.
But I'm wondering whether I should get OE equipment or go for upgraded parts.
