What do you need to do to get in a position where you can wander around the pits / paddock with a camera taking pics?

Be a registered photographer with a publication or agency who have access, and will pay for you to go.....

OR....

Having spoken to someone at the test in Silverstone last year, work for Jessops! Apparently his boss decided he needed the new range of cameras tested, so sent this guy to the Silverstone test and the GP the week later to take lots of action shots with the new cameras.... git!
