Australian Grand Prix 2013, Melbourne - Race 1/19

Nope it's fake racing, I like to see racing drivers RACE not hear the words "look after your tires" all the time.

Now if we had Bridgestone back and keep DRS it would be awesome :)

WOW.

You think looking after your tyres is a fake part of racing.
You also think looking after tyres is fake, whilst DRS isn't.

I personally would prefer less aerodynamic involvement with drivers using skill to pass instead of gimmicky aids.
Obviously I must like fake racing.

The damn thing wants more money. :(

Well, that was interesting. Just watched BBC coverage.

Congrats for Kimi, still not sure how I feel about him, he rarely seems excited by anything which bugs me slightly.

Glad Alonso beat vettel, although bit of a pain vettel still came where he did.

Rosberg seems to be faster than we all thought, but I bet Hamilton is laughing. He's basically at the bottom end of where he was last year, but McLaren are doing abysmally. Mercedes are certainly doing better than last year.

They need to get it sorted, they have poor reliability and strategy and normally do well based on pure speed, which it seems they're missing.

Overall, wasn't bad. I wonder what the odds are on Kimi winning the WDC.

Edit: 7/2 not bad odds on Kimi... But we do indeed miss jake.

Not a bad opening race, everyone seems a little more settled racing so there's less mucking about with stupid crashes!

Delighted Vettel and the Red Bull didn't storm off into the distance which should make the season good! No idea why McLaren are awful to start with though...

Good thing we don't have to wait long for the next race, it also better be a dry weekend. I don't think anyone can say the Lotus is the fastest car on that showing alone or that RB suddenly look beatable in the race.

Hoping for a hot Malaysian GP to see who really is top dog this year.

Kimi win, I've had a grin on my face all day :D

My favourite stat of the day:
Jules Bianchi's fastest lap for Marussia was only 0.045s slower than Sebastian Vettel's!

Chilton didn't finish last. That must be embarrassing for van der Garde. :p Not a bad debut by Bianchi, staying on the same lap as two established team cars.
