Australian Grand Prix 2015, Melbourne - Race 1/19

Anyone else watch the Team Principals Press Conference? :D

Q: (Ian Parkes - PA) Question to Graeme and Maurizio. It emerged during Manor/Marussia’s administrative process, the list of creditors and it showed that Ferrari was the biggest creditor, owed $16million, I believe, of the grand total of $60million. Presumably via the CVA agreement, the two of you have managed to come to a satisfactory outcome which is why you’re able to work together again. Or is there still something ongoing in the future that needs to be resolved?
MA: We don’t have to mix up things. Last year, we deal with one company, and we are still working to get back our money as everybody knows. Now we are dealing with a new company so it’s a completely different story. We are doing our job now to support them, also because they showed to us they stick to what is agreed into the contract and they are serious on the project. Otherwise, I said to Graeme in a very simple way, and he remembers, I think: “guys, we are more than open to help you, but no money, no honey.”

Graeme?
GL: That’s very true, and I do remember it!

Ferrari are unlikely to win either Championship this year, they could well finish runners up but that doesn't interest Alonso, it's all or nothing for him now, and McLaren next year - well who knows.... they could have an immense PU for all we know, if they have a good chassis for aero development too then he may be in with a shout of the WDC in 2016/2017.

No one expects McLaren to do anything this year, it's a rebuilding phase/transitional period which as Merc demonstrated from '12/'13 etc. takes time to complete.

Are you actually watching a reading what is happening with McLaren, your whole argument is based on if and could.

The car is a dog, it is so bad the 107% rule in qualifying has been mentioned.

It is more than probable that neither car will even finish the race and given the limited running, no testing and engine restrictions, it is entirely possible that will happen at the next race too.

As for the tightly packaged rear end, so has Kylie Minogue, the difference is she has more chance of scoring this weekend.

Mercedes during their transitional were competing at the front end of the grid, the only way Button and Magnussen are going to see the front row this weekend is when Bernie makes that stand at the front to while Ricciardo sings "Advance Australia Fair"

You are delusional to the sate that McLaren find themselves in.

Even if McLaren had a competitive car Button has never been a very good qualifier, he either has the occasional surprisingly good session or blames the car balance. Alonso should give us the best idea of the true pace of the car once he's back.

At this stage last year we were seriously talking about whether any of the Renault engined cars would finish the race, I seem to recall that reliability didn't turn out too bad in the end.

At at least wait until we've run some actual meaningful competitive sessions before condemning Mclaren entirely

Four teams ran Renault engines last season the so the amount of data that was gathered was obviously increased.

Honda have run one engine.

Just what? Delusional about what? I havent mentioned anywhere that McLaren are even going to finish the race on Sunday letalone said anything about finishing on the front row:confused:...i am well aware of the problems McLaren are facing thanks.

its perfectly feasible to say that Mclaren could be competitive in 16 or 17 for the sheer fact that no one knows right now just how good or bad the cars potential is. It could be a flop, but it also may not be. Ive got faith that Honda know what they are doing and together with Mclaren will deliver a good car. It remains to be seen whether that will come to fruition of course. Did you even read what i said properly ?

How boring, wonder how much they are paying.
And I wonder when they'll be in court next, when they don't find the money to pay.

I'm assuming he's getting a complete refund, damages and costs.

I was hoping for bailiffs and Monisha in the nick tbh.

[edit]

Oh, hang on.

So now we await more news on the agreement, which apparently is still fluid - and could yet involve him driving the car at some stage
