Business as usual it would seem unless Ferrari have a super quali mode or Mercedes suffer from their usual race pace issues.

"We believe they(ferrari) are 0.5s quicker"

Typical Mercedes :D

I hope for the sake of the interest of F1 that Red Bull and Ferrari are sandbagging big time.

Neither Merc or Ferrari are running to their true pace. Could be closer than we think.

It's sad; a Williams revival looked so plausible a few years back but now?

I think that was masked by having the best engine on the grid by quite a margin and having a less draggy aero philosophy. They were consistently the top speed kings for a couple seasons and comfortably pass most cars on the straights.

Engines are relatively level now and the bigger wider cars needed a new aero philosophy. Still, they should not be anywhere close to where they are. Feel the team needs completely restructuring.

I think Claire Williams defiant 'We will never become a B-Team' comments will see the end of an era. The car looks poor again and they simply cannot carry on the way they are. They just can't seem to design or develop a car to match everyone else and if this is their final year i don't think anybody will be surprised.

It isn't just Williams, McLaren look pretty back of the pack too. When I saw them in testing they looked slow but I put that down to just being conditioned to that car in that livery being slow for the past years, but they don't appear to have improved.

McLaren have taken the problem of the last few years (a fundamentally slow car dragged up the grid kicking and screaming by the considerable talent of Fernando Alonso) and replaced it with a new problem - no more Alonso to try and transcend any limitations of the design. Instead they've got a rookie and a guy whose best result in four years is a solitary 4th place back in 2017.

True, but at least McLaren look like they have improved a little, Williams look just as bad as last year.

I like Claire Williams but I think she's not the right person to keep them above water.
