Well, if anyone's thinking of emigrating, now might be the time...
This is why we need CANZUK.

I've noticed Australia as become more willing to sit down at the table with the UK and other countries since China turned on them.

To motivate people to move it would need to be better there than it is here. It isn't.

The number of trained NHS staff who head for a better life down under is quite high from what I heard. Ever seen any of the ambulance/air emergency type programmes from Oz? Most of the staff appear to be Brits to hear an aussie voice comes as a surprise when it happens. They're well trained, well qualified and frankly treated like **** over here so they're happy to take them

The biggest problem with Australia for me is where it is, it’s so far away from everything, except New Zealand I guess but it’s not a massive different to Oz from a cultural perspective. Going to Japan is still 10hrs direct.

eh? Canada and the UK also have labour shortages, and all these countries are at the furthest corners of the globe and have extremely different economies and relatively little in common. This is just the typical Brexit fantasy of an ex-british empire. We should first start with building a proper relationship with the world's largest trading partner of which our economies are intrinsically tied, not least geographically and culturally neighbors.

The average house price in Aus is about the same as here in Brighton, I'd much rather move to Aus than say, Hull.

Isn't the average salary higher in Aus though compared to UK?

About £36k median vs. £31k. Their min wage is quite high though at over £12.

not only that, but Australia is so big that even seeing the different sites includes a 6 hour flight.

Ahh you've heard about CANZUK as you're using the old line "its racists who want the empire back".

Why can't we have both CANZUK and the EU?

We already have an interconnected system with the EU when it comes to the Republic of Ireland, the Common Travel Area.

But isn't most of the western world suffering with the same skills shortage?

We have the same problem here in Switzerland and the UK.

The Republic of Ireland is not the EU: the EU is not the Republic of Ireland. We were connected with the EU in a similar way but not anymore, to our detriment as all the evidence inevitably indicates.
