Perez ruined his own race by placing his car there. There was room to his left he choose to leave his car there. If he had waited a lap he would have have sailed by Russell.

In the F2 race earlier like half the field got a 5 second penalty, could be plenty here as well.

Yeah fairly stupid by Perez to try that first lap, tyres potentially not warm and massive chance of understeer.

Russell wasn't far from the apex either. Perez screwed Perez.

Its Max/Lewis again though isn't it as that was a similar thing. Heavy cars understeer but Red Bulls seem to ignore that...

Merc seems light on it's tyres. So keeping them alive longer, but struggles at the start of a stint.

This is how the Merc seemingly works.

Its average for ages until the tyres warm up but then it's firmly third fastest.
