Autumn Budget 2022

Great, tax rises for middle earners. Families already struggling with cost of living, stagnating wages + rising rent / mortgages. Pensioners get a cushty 10% rise though. It's clear who the gov are singing to the tune of.

I knew it all along, electric cars introduced as having no road tax and then the Gov reversing it later on. 100% predictable

To be fair, that's a perfectly sensible way of doing it imo. Incentivize the new technology at the start, as thats the way you want the direction to go, and once it becomes established put the RFL on it to replace the falling income from ICE cars.

Locked in but doesnt mean somebody couldnt change it if needed. When that was set it was in 2019/2020. The world is a different place now.

Sure
I’m happy to contribute, ~£160 over 12 months isn’t massive and probably doesn’t make much difference for most.

There is the target to switch out ICE for EV looming, so getting the balance between tax costs and environment is challenging.

Those over the benefits and minimum threshold are seriously hit hard here.

Makes for grim listening.
Basically saying we are strapped for cash.

Pensions shouldn't be going up with inflation. No other demographic is getting anything near that.

It's every time though. At what point will someone give us a break? I already work two jobs, do i need to get a third?

Shafted every single time

Did you not see that benefits are going up by the same. When you are older on a fixed income and not so able, gaining additional income streams is harder. When I was in my twenties, thirties and forties earning additional money was easier in many ways.
