Avengers: Infinity War (2018) - SPOILER FREE DISCUSSION - DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT, STARMUNCH!

All I could think during this movie was about Thanos's end goal... ridding the universe of half its population. He's only sending us back, what... ~50 years, surely? I'm half-jesting as life wouldn't carry on as before, but you know what I mean :p

Really enjoyed this film. You do have to turn your brain off a bit and enjoy the spectacle but it was a stomping time. I certainly pulled a WUT face as the credits started, as I imagine many did.

WTF CINEMA!!

Near the end of the movie, before the credits even rolled, the cinema turned all the lights on

I know Thanos looks slightly like his actor, but overall he reminds me of someone else but I can't put my finger on it.

Loved the movie, very epic and did a good job of evening the playing field with their abilities against bads.

Love how Thor's character has progressed in the series, he's gets more and more godly.

Great film. It really flowed, and you felt that everyone who was there had a proper part to play, not just to make up the numbers. A worthy climax to the last ten years of Marvel movies. Marvel hits it out of the park again.

Just got back from watching it, I must be the only one in here who wasn’t that wowed by it.

Don’t get me wrong it’s a good movie but far from the best of the marvel universe.

7/10 for me, I guess I went in with too much expectation and left kind of disappointed.

Thor ragnarok and black panther both were much much better movies.

/dons flame suit on :p.

And before any wiseass in here thinks I’m trolling, honestly it wasn’t that great a movie. Hopefully the next one will be much better.

It might be down to expectation - I went into Black Panther expecting to be blown away, but it was just another cookie cutter Marvel film.
Thor Ragnarok was great, but not better than the first Avengers.

Admittedly the titled heroes were lacklustre - I didn't see much new from them and if the movie was taken into account for their actions alone, I would rank it lower than Ultron.
Same for all the crossovers - none of them really stood out. Dr Strange gave Stark too much of his time, the Guardians were a bit too dumb.

For me it was Thanos that made the movie. There was so much work put into his character and it surprised me. From the first scene where he efficiently wrecked Hulk like he was an mma fighter, it was clear this guy was going to be the baddest villain yet. But then they gave him depth and emotion and made his ambitions tangible for the audience (we have a population problem, losing half the population would have a lot of benefits), and it his story was somewhat credible. They went all the way with the stone collection, where I thought it was going to stop at maybe 4 of 6 gathered. He didn't kill any of the superheroes unless he had to, and the respect he gave to Stark was like a scene from Heat.

And then Thor just stole the show at the end, but bitter-sweetly.

If I had to gripe, it was that they did not show enough of Thanos' dark side, well acting out his darkness. Hopefully that will be present in the next one.

Put down the crack pipe son. :p Ragnarok was pants and Black Panther was only just about average. I thought this new one dumped all over those from a great height - easily the best in the series.

When is 3D at the cinema going to die? I went to the Leicester Square Imax in London to see this a second time and have never been to an imax before, and even with laser projection making the 3D brighter I still detested it, motion looks absolutely appalling with it.
Really hoping it's not round much longer as it's not in TVs any longer and it just doesn't add anything other than distraction.

I admit to being surprised when I saw this advertised as 3D as well as 2D. I was even more surprised to see that it had equal, if not more, showings in 3D. Not sure who still wastes their time with it, but some must be.
