What's the average salary for a person who is typing things up, quotes etc. putting them in spreadsheets- so a typist/admin/secretary.

My dad has a typist who is complaining about how much she earns, she's on ~£9.50 an hour, which is ~17k a year.

She gets an hour for lunch, and fag breaks i the morning and afternoon. Does 8 hours work a day mon-fri, and 3 3/4 on a friday.

It's in the North West (Winsford)

Thanks guys.

p.s. she's worked there for a long time ~ 15 years.

Tell her to STFU, Plenty of young little hotties about that can type and dont mind earning 6 quid an hour

That's way over the odds. Any spacker can learn to type.

Thing is she thinks she's being underpayed because there's a girl who work for another company in the same building doing a similar job, who earns more than her.

Sounds like a good wage for the job.

The bint should look at getting a job there then.

Down here it's only about £6-7 an hour for that kind of thing, she really doesn't have anything to complain about.

Is the other girl hotter because then she deserves to be paid more.

Your old man should decrease her salary and see how she likes those apples. Going from the general consensus here, her position could be easily refilled for a lower salary.

17K for tapping keys and she's moaning!!!

She clearly needs a slap in the face with a wet fish.
Quoted for empathesis... Just ignore her - she will either forget about it - or she'll quit meaning you can hire another for less dosh :) It's a win-win situation!
