average wage for a typist?

What's the average salary for a person who is typing things up, quotes etc. putting them in spreadsheets- so a typist/admin/secretary.

My dad has a typist who is complaining about how much she earns, she's on ~£9.50 an hour, which is ~17k a year.

She gets an hour for lunch, and fag breaks i the morning and afternoon. Does 8 hours work a day mon-fri, and 3 3/4 on a friday.

£9.50 p/h as a typist is a joke. Cut it to £6.50 and you'll still find plenty of people capable and willing to do it.
