The thread is about tattoos and has also gone on about other choices we make in life and how we change our minds eg earrings.
You claimed that AT THE MOMENT you liked the earrings you had.
In a years time you might not like them and will put them in a drawer or you might think that these new Bobby Dazzler earrings are better and you prefer them for a while.
You can not do that with a tattoo.
Ergo somebody might like their tattoo at the moment but not later on in life or they might like another one more but now its too late.

It depends entirely on the person. If the work is good and they suit it then I think it looks good.

I like my ears. I love them; I love the way they look, I love the way they feel, and I love the quality, the look and the feel of the jewelery I have in them at the moment.

I like the jewelery I am wearing right now. At this moment.

I also like the jewelery I was wearing yesterday.

Not 'At this moment, I like this jewelery (but I may not in the future)' but 'I like the jewelery I am wearing at this moment in time'.

Please say you understand this. You've taken completely the wrong meaning of the words which I typed (and quite a bizarre one at that).

With a tattoo you have no choice.

I'll accept that the harpsichord player has sat down in old age and made a decision on how he wants to end his final years and might not regret it.
However, I'm pretty confident that some of these young men doing similar things will.
It is a rather big assumption but I've worked with 1000s of people over the years and do have experience of people regretting having tattoos.
I've seen too many people follow tattoo trends - tribal tattoos, chinese writing tattoos, tattoos just above a womans batty etc and of course I'm sure you'll also have contempt for these trend followers.
I also went through the period of home made tattoos with ballpoint ink, a needle and a hot flame with fools adorning themselves with horrible tats of Mum, Love, hate and other tasteless sights.

No juvenile because it looks like it was done by a kid just starting out wihout any real talent. I just don't share your admiration of his work. The fine detail patterns are pretty good but he seems to lack artistic talent when it comes to larger peices. He doesn't seem to be awfully good at perspective so the larget peices look somewhat flat.

Anyone who now wears a swastika or even worse tatoo's it to thier body is a tool. No matter if it is done in a peaceful context the symbol represents to most of the population oppression, racism, genocide and war.

I think you'll fine one superceded the other in terms of impact in the modern age. The greater should be considered above the lesser.

I can't help but feel though that these people wouldn't of had them if it wasn't popularized by Hitler. And it wouldn't surprise me if, even though these people aren't doing it to directly be offensive, they probably enjoy the attention they get from have a Swastika on them. Now your probably going to tell me they are just expressing themselves, or they can do what they want with there bodies. But in reality there just copying everyone else with flappy Dumbo ears.
