Azureus is annoying me

uTorrent is slooooow for me, Azureus works best but tends to use a lot of memory. Ive never had any problems with it randomly closing either.

Solution = unistall it, its bloated, slow at downloads and unstabe. Infact theres nothing good about it.

Install Utorrent or others that are far better.

Does uTorrent:

A. download 1 file from multiple peers at the same time?
B. Support uPnP devices (ADSL Router)
C. Upload/download ratio or download full speed whilst capped upload speeds?

I used to be a DC++ user, now using Azeurus due to ISP p2p throttling, but thinking about moving over to uTorrent.

Is there an easy way to "upgrade" ? (e.g. keep my torrents and partially completed files?)

Another uTorrent convert here, was using Azureus but very happy without it ;)

Yep, I was using Azureus until last week (regularly engulfed more than 120MB RAM!) until i gave uTorrent a bash - now it never exceeds 15MB RAM and just seems a lot more stable and reliable.

Very happy convert!

A. Course it does, thats how distributed p2p works.
B. Yeah.
C. The client does not ratio it no, but other factors will.

Azureus is much more sophisticated evidently.
I'll try to re install. If not succeed can i still continue my downloads with another program?

I've found BitLord is faster and I get much better speeds when using it.

It also doesn't use Java so doesn't have the questionable reliability of Azureus.

Yep! Thats what I use, also an excellent choice with vista (what I am doing now) s it works with aero. Its also a tiny file size and just very good.

D. Is there an easy way to "upgrade" ? (e.g. keep my torrents and partially completed files?)

a. yup
b. yup
c. you can set it up 5up, and have full down -ie, 5up and 1250down (set to unlimited) on my 10mg ntl
d. think you can just set the download directory to wherever az has put them, open the torrent files in utorrent, and it'll check the directory for parts (someone else may verify if this works or doesn't work)

Yup easy, just load the torrent back into Utorrent, and send it to the same place, it will pick up from where it left off. :)

Used to use Azureus here, and loved it, but couldn't game while downloading as it hoggs the CPU usage so i switched to Utorrent, no problems at all with it, download at 230k+ on my 2mb connection. :)

Wow I love Azurues and never had any problems with it, but all you guys love utorrent so I may aswell give it a bash.

EDIT: Just trying it, has less options that azureus :(, how do you set the number of peers per torrent?

loving all this Azureus hate.
for me, uTorrent doesn't cut it. I'm fine with Azureus' resource use as its better than uTorrent FACT.

Thats all torrents, not each torrent right?

Like some torrents I might want to only connect say 50, others I might want 200.

just set it higher in preferences?
