Haven't built a new PC in years. See spec below. I'm going to get ryzen 7600 or 7700. Possibly 6750xt. i need 3 x M.2. 4 x SATA. Will be keep motherboard a good 5 years.
I've narrowed the motherboard list a bit. But this pci lane and sharing bandwidth is confusing the hell out of me. Want a board that will run eeverything full pace or close.

Any advise would be helpfully. Thanks.

This is exactly the reason I went for the ASUS X670e Gene, I dont run any SATA drives in my system at all (A lot less wiring to deal with) at the moment im running 3 x PCI-e 4 nvme drives, I wanted a board that would support at least 2 x PCI-e 5 nvme drives and a PCI-e 5 GFX card which this does.

AMD generally support the sockets for years which is why I choose them over Intel, the only reason i'll change the board is if the newer AM5 CPUs in the upcoming years have more PCI-e lanes and add PCI-e 5 and upwards across the whole board.

I dont really see any point buying B650, most of the boards are PCI-e 4 across the board, so unless you must have the latest CPU and DDR5 then you might as well go for X570S

Hmm, it's just that on the front of the box it says Pcie5 ready (Gfx and Nvme ONLY) ??? (same as the B650e) I'm confused :/
B650E and X670E both have PCI-E 5.0 graphics and 1 or more PCI-E 5.0 M.2 slot(s).

B650 and X670 have PCI-E 4.0 graphics and may have 1 or more PCI-E 5.0 M.2 slot(s).

There shouldn't be any lane sharing between graphics and M.2, unless the manufacturer tries to shove more PCI-E 5.0 M.2 slots into the board than it has lanes (the CPUs can support 2, so I'd expect that number to be 3).

Thanks mate.
I will probably stay with the Rog B650e-F that i have here then, it was just the Gfx and Nvme ONLY statement on the front of the box that confused me, and thought i would clarify before opening and using it.

No idea why they put that "ONLY", maybe they think someone is going to buy a PCI-E 5.0 sound card and then complain there's no PCI-E 5.0 slot to put it in.

Yep, it instantly made me think i should look into it, As it was i have had no time today to start the build so nothing lost ;)

I would look at something like this, I'm building my son a PC at Christmas and I am planning on using this board

Free Starfield with the following ASUS motherboards >> https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lp/asus-rog-starfield-promo
Also £25 cashback via Asus - Rate My Gear >> https://www.asus.com/events/promotions/uk/ratemygear/

I'm just not that keen on Asus anymore, but it's tempting!
