Babies...

I would say even later than that, I've read about it before but don't ask me for links right now as I simply cba :p

link ?

also i dont believe it anyway, ethan nows now when hes doing something wrong, he sees the slipper in daddies hand he knows he needs to stop whatever hes doing there and then.

he does get confused when i then put them on my feet but hey ho :p

My eldest usually gets up at 5am - nothing we can do about it.

With the latest addition I can kiss goodbye to pretty much any sleep.

Still worth it though :)

Please tell me that the second part of your post was not aimed at me.

Most people have annoying little idiosyncracies but you put up with it as its part of this thing called tolerance.

A child is not as responsible for its actions as an adult is for theirs.

In reality my lifestyle choice was made for me, we both used contraception but ended up pregnant. Yes you could argue it was our choice as we never had an abortion but neither of us believe in that.

How would it have been aimed at you when I dont even know you or what you do ??

I agree most people have annoying little idiosyncracies but you put up with them but when it comes to children, some adults absolve any responsibilty when it comes to annoying the hell out of other people. Like when I went on holiday to the Canaries one year, the kid behind me was kicking my chair for hours even after I repeatedly asked the parent to stop the child from doing so.

I cant as i dont have the food if you know what i mean :p

Thats a different matter though - thats poor parenting not the childs fault per se.

A parent should always take responsibility for their childs actions - the only difference is parents may have a different view of what is and is not acceptable.

In the example given the parents should have apologised to you and stopped their child kicking the chair. I would have made my kid apologise as well.

Personally, I don't see the point in living a life and then dieing without having kids, it's rather pointless(I don't have kids but I've helped to raise um).

If you sat on your backside doing nothing all your life then yes then it might be pointless, did Mother Teresa have a pointless life ??

NHS wouldn't so I went private.

 Can I ask why? You might change your mind one day and the longer you leave it the less chance a reversal has to work. I know you feel now that you won't but in 15 year or 10 you may feel differently. Plus they can also fail so you still need a condom if you want to be sure.

Do you have an Ethan too? My 11 month old is Ethan :D I think it takes them a while to work it out based on my 4 and nearly 6 year old too, I'll find links tomorrow if I remember :p

All the people complaining about kids crying in supermarkets or acting spoilt and asking for the latest thing, well that's just down to bad parenting so blame them and not the kids. It's perfectly possible to raise kids who don't misbehave out of order in public places.

Exactly, I generally don't like kids and think that most of them should be down t'mill working from 2 years, but we have a few friends who have loverly kids. I don't see us having children, the wife is a nurse and worked a stint in maternity, which put her off for life :D but if we was to have any, I hope they turn out like these children we know.

I would say a very good sleeper is one that sleeps all night :p My Ethan goes to bed around 6.30-7pm, up in the evening a couple of times for milk and then up 4-5 times a night for milk too. Sometimes sleeps until 7.30-8am usually a little earlier. I have to do all the feeds for the same reason though :)

I would have stopped mine (they wouldn't have done it in the first place anyway) but I wouldn't force a child to say sorry if they didn't mean it. My children say sorry when they do something wrong but they actually mean it, just because they say the words doesn't mean they mean it. We talk and explain feelings and why things shouldn't be done and how it impacts on others and they do feel and understand that now.

Crikey you poor two with (nearly) one year olds. My godson will be one in March, and hes been sleeping 12 hours through the night from the age of 8 weeks. Unless hes ill, he goes down at 7, and doesnt wake up til 7 the next morning.

Slightly off thread, but my Ethan is 7 years old. Must be a very popular name now:D I had never heard it when someone suggested it to us.

one of the top 10 most pospular now i think

when me and the missus chose it we went through the entire book seperately and it was the only boys name we both picked out :p

so when he was born decision was an easy one :p

I'd never heard anyone with it before except the actor. We thought we were picking a more unusual name, typical hehe. I think it was number 15 or so on The Times names list this year.
