Gah ! damnit ! just noticed that fx are showing babylon 5 from the start everyday at 6pm !

Fantastic ! another chance to watch this again ! thats my dose of sci fi greatness sorted for quite a while ! :)
 
Sheer epicness wrapped in a box. I highly recommend anyone who has not seen this show to watch it.

On Season 4 now, I foolishly believed nothing could top season 3 but I was oh so wrong.
 
I think that was just Crusade.

It was just a bad storyline and everything had been tied up. There was no real need for that 5th series
 
I've got the box set too, bought it for around a £100 ages ago too.

crusade came after season 5 and atleast 1 movie iirc, it was rushed so was no where near as good as the other series.

Crusade got cancelled due to typical us ratings only view on things, personally I thought it had the potential to be a fairly good series but it was never given the opportunity.
 
Season 5 was only weak because they squeezed the plot into season 4 as they weren't sure they would get the budget to film season 5 ...

Watched it when it was first broadcast on TV, bought it on VHS and now have it on DVD :)
 
As a big Star Trek fan I really want to check out Babylon 5 (never seen it before), I'm always jealous of people who've never watched shows I love (24, Star Trek etc) so it's nice being on the other side for a change :D

I was the same as you before the summer, the summer I decided to take the plunge and buy the box set, the summer everything changed.

So far the money has been worth it for the first few seasons alone and there's still loads to get through.
 
It was great. Suprised JMS hasn't produced anything (of the same scale/quality as the spin off's don't count, i think he was on drugs when he did them!! :) ) to follow it up other than the odd straight to dvd movie. Bought it all on VHS, then again on DVD.
 
B5 has one of the best storylines ever. The fact everything links together right from the very beginning is a testament to its storyline planning. Really is one of the best Sci-Fi shows by a long way.

Only thing that let it down for me was the blatant stealing of the 1984 plotline, however they did integrate it well into the B5 universe.
 
Yep I've been watching, I think it they only started Monday, so there hasn't been many yet.

Fantastic series.
You can tell at times that the budget wasn't as big as Start Trek but it really doesn't matter, they did such a fantastic job with what they had.

I remember watching it on C4 back in the day :)
