Yeah well, when your trying to sneak some posts in before the powers that be bust your ass for being on the internet, spelling is the last of my worries :P

Thats not a very strong lineup. Only Hendrix there was any good.

Bit of a sweeping statement there. In fact, of that list I'd probably put Hendrix as the most over-rated. He was a great guitarist but not to the level he's made out to be. (Still, he'll alays be better than me, the swine!) Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones are probably the two biggest Rock bands in history and Pink Floyd can't be far behind. But who's to say I'm right? That's the great thing about opinions, everybody's got one. I'd be interested for you to name 3 bands that have had more of an influence on rock music over the years.

I agree 100% with the above.

The Beatles and The Beach Boys are the only contenders I can think of right now. The former I think most will agree with but the latter takes an understanding of just how influential "Pet Sounds" was when it was released.

Agreed Gordy. The Beach Boys are usually overlooked as one of the greats, not to mention their ground breaking use of Synths.

Indeed mate. It's fair to say that without "Pet Sounds" we would have had no "Sgt. Pepper". At least not in the way we have it now.

Well it might be because I don't really like Floyd, they are not really a band I can listen to on a whim, I need to be Floyded up. Therefore I cannot really see their importance at that time, if I were to be harsh I would say the only reason they are around now is due to cool stigma from using acid and being 'trippin'. But that probably is not the case.

It probably is the case, actually.

They may have been influential but that doesn't mean they're any good...

I just went on my mates Itunes to listen to a few libertine tracks (he didnt have babyshambles).

Wow. If babyshambles are as bad as that, I can't see what the fuss is about. Almost laughable recording of the songs which posess little value songwriting wise.

I'll avoid in the future.

Do you know how hard this is for me?
Agreeing with Gilly is a no no BUT -
I saw Pink Floyd on the DSOTM tour, Animals tour, another tour and the Pulse tour and I wish I hadn't wasted my money.
I also agree with Gilly that they were the most boring thing on the Live 8 concert and even Pete Doherty was more interesting even though he murdered Children Of The Revolution.

However, Gilly should lose his dancing skills for his comments about Zeppelin.
