i cancelled some of the parts i ordered after a long think and I've decided i want to change from an I3-3220 to an amd processor on my ITX system this is what I have on the way to my house:

bitfenix prodigy (orange)
Mk III Series 500W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular PSU (white)

What I'm looking to do with my new build is gaming I mainly play arma 2 (dayz) COD series and some css, i mostly play arma 2 wich is very CPU heavy so i need something that will give 4ghz+ (i think).

any advice would be appreciated on what board and CPU will be best for me

i changed my mind hono you guys talked me into an i3 and when i looked into it they seem garbage :S

Well that's me done here fella. I'm sorry but you have champagne taste and beer money. You set the budget and picked the case, I spec'd you the best I could for the cash. Going mini-itx isn't cheap, the ivybridge i3 is NOT garbage.

Save your breath mate. I don't wanna sound like an uber douche but I have already given him all the info he needs in his "old" thread

but if there's more than one of us he has believe us right?

Agreed. Id like to know what he has read to make tlhim think the i3's are rubbish.

the games i play need more than 2 cores, im pretty sure of it and an i3 will not work for ME, only asking for advice not an argument on Intel vs AMD,i just think personally AMD is more for what ill be doing... jeez

Vergals, I Think you under estimate the power of cpu's i recently came from using a 3 core athlon and that was still holding up to very high intense games, if you want better then play more, its not hard really, your not really giving much of a price range for what you want.

honestly? its a terrible cpu with what i was reading and its defiantly not suited for what i want out of my pc...

If you want an AMD ITX, you'll get nothing other than a Hudson M1 which is built in. You will not get FM2/3 on an ITX, your better of listening to these chaps and getting i3/5 on a mini itx in that case.

Doesn't fit the case fella. He still needs RAM, optical drive etc etc

Sorry, I understood it as he cancelled those parts....lol

I was lead to believe this was all he needed as his OP stated:

"I almost forgot my budget is around 200-250 for the board and CPU"

You can't say, "I need more than 2 cores to play games" as cores and their power vary rapidly from series to series let alone between Intel and AMD.

Yes, a dual core athlon may not of done you well but the sandybridge and Ivybridge i3 are more than a match for the phenom x4's of old.

It not just a case of "I need more cores".. As its not cores that are important any more, its threads.

Read up on them.

someone with a AMD at 4ghz is specing you an i5, should tell you all you need to know :p

tho i didnt see a budget in this thread mabe i am little to drunk to read

but for gaming;
if you can afford a dedicated gpu intel makes sense
if you cant, like a budget of 300, then AMD trinity makes sense

For what he needs, Intel would be better, my choice is AMD for a different reason. It's a great little CPU!
