I've been a member of the forum for around 8 years although post infrequently as this is only my 179th post. I usually browse or go through periods of posting about a certain topic.

Three weeks ago I got a "Warning" for posting a word which intentionally resembled a swear word. It was posted with humour intended.

A few days ago in th3 - "what do you do whilst drunk" thread:

https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18763476

I posted a sentence like "I usually watch <censored> on YouTube". The word I posted I had stared out other than the first/last character. Apparently this is against the rules.

I got a 48 hour ban for this.

I really enjoy the forum but find this approach to banning people rather than effectively communicating with them or reviewing it sensibly a really negative approach.

I wasn't offensive,or aggressive. I intend to abide by the rules and continue posting but just wanted to voice this opinion

I had a warning over something recently which I felt was unfair and had a very polite convo with one of the mods via email and had it resolved and taken off my record.

I understand where they are coming from with the warning, even though I felt it was unjust and was very appreciative of them taking the time to speak to me and then remove it. They are very busy, they have a lot to deal with and it's well known that disguised swearing isn't allowed (you're better off just writing it normally as the software stars it out anyway), it's also your own fault for not taking heed of the first warning. Blame is on your there matey!

I have an infraction showing on my account for a breach that never occurred.
I emailed the mod in question several times but he never had the decency to reply at any stage. Some mods seem fine, others seem to enjoy abusing their limited power which reflects badly on the forum as a whole.

Yea I appreciate their busy, just wanted to vent as for the last couple of days threads I was involved with I was unable to post in.

Nothing major, I try to respect the rules and will take on board in the future
