Hey,

So, i have like 700gb of data on one external hard drive, and I just bought another external hard-drive to backup this data, as i'm worried about only having one copy, so i'd rather have a backup of all the data.

Question is, what is the best way to do this?

Brute force? Copy/Pasting everything from one to the other, i have enough usb ports to do so, but is it safe and would the data retain its quality and not be corrupted?

Is there some sort of cloning software which is good for this kind of thing?

I dont mind either method, doesnt matter how long it takes, as long as my data remains intact.

Thanks for any replies,

Dexter

Hi, I use FolderClone http://www.folderclone.com/ to automatically synchronise various important folders to an external esata drive. It's not cheap at $45 but the data is far more valuable and the software is highly configurable to schedule backups every few minutes, hours or days to one or more locations.
The same people make FolderMatch http://www.foldermatch.com/ which also synchronises and compares folders but manually.
