Right i recently got organised with my data, got rid of things i don't need and organised everything else in a sensible way. This was no mean feat after years of saving things all over the place and having multiple drives. I sold on/stopped using all my smaller drives (except for an OS drives which i keep separate from storage now) and bought a few 1tb drives since my data easily fits on a single 1tb drive and a I wanted some backup.
I have two 1tb drives on my main machine for storage and backup. At the moment if I save or change something on one drive I manually do the same to the other. This is tedious and it's possible i could copy an older version of something that I am working on over a newer version by accident. Is there any (preferably free) software that can do this for me?
I like the files to not be locked up in a rar or other backup file so that all the files are immediately accessible on either drive. This means that I wouldn't have to wait for a replacement drive before i can access my data if one failed. So i would just want the software to replicate any change i make on one drive to the other. I was hoping the W7 backup function would do this but it seems to just create one massive archive which is not what i want.
I also have another drive at a different location that i backup ever month or so in case my house burns down
